I guess he can't hear you anymore.

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Assuming I did this would also pre-suppose that I am capable of doing something like this. I am barely computer literate. I can operate one but I cannot program one or do anything really technical. Hell, Bob had to show me how to steal emoticons. I am, however, capable of banning members who are abusive to others. Ya'll stop abusing me! Poor, poor me!

Carry on.

is this like ann landers??/

anyways, i am always inthe market to buy good achaeology books or lectures, etc. amazon works but the cost and time frame gets prohibitive. B.A.R. has worn out its welcome with me, so what would be some other good & cheap sources for materials?

Arch,

Give this a try. Biblio searches about 5000 bookshops. They carry used, new and rare. Here's the link.

http://www.biblio.com/

I'll put this in the 'Cool Links' board also.

there is a whole world of archaeology out there but lately all the attention has been given to the three topics i normally post in, why is that?

one would think that those 3 threads would just be one of the crowd as posters discuss what they want.

Excuse me? What "crowd" would that be? You just caused me to choke on my morning coffee.

Put your hand in front of your face Arch. How many digits do you see? What do you mean crowd when half of the posts (or less) are from people who do not claim this as their "mother" board.

Are you talking about posters who are interested in archaeology, ancient history, and the mysteries of the earth? Then remove the digit that signifies yourself.

You are being a hypocrite and a dishonest one at that, and I can't let this silly question stand.

We had a deal!!! You, Min, and myself. You agreed to do your part to keep down the troll traffic (even though you are the troll we're stuck with).
I said I would do my part. So I get a pmail Mon. evening that you're in distress and I came in and thought I would stem the feeding frenzy a little . Only afterward did I remember that there is NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A FEEDING FRENZY.

You have broken our deal - I've had it. Don't pmail me again. Try someone else in the "crowd".

sorry --i think you misunderstood my question and purpose. i was trying to draw attention to the other fine threads that are being ignored and wonder why only 3 or 4 are getting all the traffic.

the word 'crowd' meant all the serious archaeological posts being used by serious posters and the three i post in would not stand out by the amount of traffic it is receiving.

sorry if i wasn't clear.

I hope you're not too far out in the "boonies" Michelle, and you're ok. My morning coffee just doesn't taste the same without Archaeologica News.

Have fun though.

I've been reading the news page for many months now and I always just assumed it was some kind of bot that crawled the web looking for select keywords. The fact that you do all this manually is amazing. Thank you for all the hard work! Image

How many posters actually read all those great links of yours, Michelle?

I have a feeling that some of our heavy hitters bypass the archaeo news and jump into the ring.

If everyone read it every day maybe there'd be a greater diversity of discussion.

I haven't been able to find a link back to the news page from the forum, though. How do you do that without backing up through your history?

Thanks.

I'm getting closer to my home.......

Post by MichelleH »

Sorry for the sporadic nature of the news updates. I’ve been in Oregon, in areas where connection is limited at best. One spot had no cell, internet, phone or television! Peaceful!

Tonight I’m Carmel slowly heading home, so things will catch up over the next few days.

Thanks for waiting!

i noticed that discussion has gone down as air needs to be cleared here.

why is it that secular researchers are such crybabies spoiled children that they refuse to encounter those who have different perspectives and theories?

i have seen this happen in many places and not just on the internet, kind of sad to see. {by the way--ito be a good lawyer one must have the answers to the questions before they are asked and i already know the answer to that one}

I am sure you've all noticed the hiccups today in the board.

Please be patient, it's being worked on so things might be intermittent for a day.

Thanks!
