Been there - done that. You are far to blinded by relgiious zeal to see it.

I thought you were leaving?
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

archaeologist wrote:as i said in current biblical archaeology, to continue to throw up proof to unbelievers is a waste of time as they will not accept it until it is too late.

Elijah himself could come back to earth and dig up the ark itself and you would not accept it as valid. you are not the final board of approval, so it doesn't matter if i provide proof or not, you still have to face the truth, even when i am silent, because it won't go away.

so since your refusal to accept or meet the challenge, noah's flood as it is written in the biblical text is declared the winner and is the only true version.

i am now taking a break from this thread as it is clear that the detractors cannot back up their fiath in science with anything substantial.
How can one prove that there is no physical evidence?

Horrid finding your beliefs shattered, isn't it? An honest man would face up to it.

One can prove the absence of the evidence that would exist if something happened. For example, the absence of evidence that Nicole Kidman is pregnant is evidence against my claim that on a hot Spring night in Rio I . . . you see where I am going with this, right?

By nature of their contents, the Flood Myths require a flat-Earth sitting in a "waters of the deep" with a firmament holding back the waters above.

Game over right there.

The problem is he is neither.

i am honest and my beliefs weren't shattered, nor were the dented. you have proven you can't sustain your own beliefs in your own theories or you would have posted something credible in your own defense instead of waiting to see what iwould post and then try to tear it apart.

i am here for discussdion and so far in this thread you have shown you are not,as you opt for the usual tactics.

They certainly should have been by now. Are you sure that you aren't George W. Bush? He's thick as shit, too.

There is zero evidence for your position. I am standing here with nothing that even vaguely supports you. Your position is absurd and is completely illogical.

George the Younger accepts that evolution happens . . . just not in Democrats . . . "spore theory" or something. . . .

I mean, what can you do with the boy refuses to discuss the topic? Hey, I really enjoy Pavaroti's version of Nessun Dorma--which I am listening to at this moment.

obviously you have not read the first 65 pages of this thread. actually it isn't, if it was you would not be afraid to post your side's argument in a manner that is easily readable, logical, credible and so on.

the mere fact that you have to make the above statement shows that you have nothing to refute the biblical account.

not at all. what you have shown me is that no matter how hard you try, you can't disprove the flood and it must be contended with. every piece of 'evidence' i have faced that is used by your side is usually supported by conjecture and no hard evidence.

oh i should point out something about those figures given for water volume and the resulting conslusions that the water pressure would be too great with a heighth of 9,000 ft [+/-].

the titanic lies in about 3 miles of water and yet its structure is not crushed despite the vast amount of wate pressure placed on it. even little artifacts like the clock on the mantle piece, retain their shape.

so i guess it is back to the drawing board on that one (i did the comparison by memory but have at it anyways)

face it, you all have failed the challenge...

read, and understand, yr. physics.

simply put, once the titanic filled with water, relative pressure was equalized. for either hull or clock. no matter what depth.

now, theoretically, i could figure out the psi which could crush steel, but i won't, because the only place it might happen would be in the molten core of the earth which, obviously, is somewhat below the bottom of the ocean.

nature abhors a vacuum.

that's when things go bang.

One gets the feeling that physics was not a big subject at that divinity school that arch attended.

I think there they study the crush depth of altar boys.

. . . and Hilary supports "intelligent design."

I just love the integrity . . . integredy . . . ethics of politics.

P.S. Here is a FUN thing to consider kids! First, john is correct as submarines that surpass their "crush" depth discover, and these are at far less depths. Second, consider what the sudden introduction of so much fresh water would have done to the salt water dependent fishies.

Short Answer: it makes for a sad Little Nemo. . . .

let me tell you a story:

one day Jesus was teaching and up walked a centurion. the centurion had heard about Jesus' healing power and he came to see Christ himself as his servant was sick.

When Jesus asked the centurion what he wanted, he was told and Jesus then said, 'let us go to your house'. but the centurian refused saying, 'i am a man of authority, when i comand someone to do something, he does it. I know you are a man of authority and i know all you have to do is speak and my servant will be healed.

Jesus stopped andsaid, 'greater faith than this i have foundnot in Israel. go thy servant is healed,'

what this illustrates is this: i can provide every request for proof that you ask,i can give you all the calculations to back up what i say and in these pages much has been done from both secular and religious sources.

but it all boils down to this, if you don't have faith, you willnever be satisfied and you will never get the answers you seek. ultimately faith is the only way. as it has been shown in many posts, science can only go so far then you are left with more questions.

without faith you can't please God. so now i am officially done with this thread.

What was the centurion's name?

What cohort? Which Legion? Where was the legion stationed? Who was Legatis Legionis and why was he so derelict as to let his officers go off wandering the countryside?

What proof do you have for such a story or is this more of the crap they pass out at divinity school?
