I said, it sounded as if it were describing an invasion.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Min, check-out what Wikipedia says about the text of the Ipuwer Papyrus, then tell me that's "just" about an invasion. Have fun.

GV - I don't agree with anything you're saying. However - are you having trouble posting urls'?

Did you read the link? And you agree with min, that it's just an invasion? Oh brother.

And I never bothered to be a big linker, pardon me please.

GV - everyone is entitled to their own faith and relationship with their God.

It has absolutly no business on an archaeological forum.

The Bible is the most accurate history book ever written, this is why it has been the primary road-map for archaeological endeavours in the Middle East in modern times, and you say that has nothing to do with archaeology?

And there lies the problem. Religions and history of the middle east make for rich archaeological discussions indeed.

You have no idea how many times I have wished to enter into those discussions but they always run up against peoples religious beliefs. Whether they be creationist, atheist, or whatever - these are all religious beliefs and become obstacles to any scientific discussion.

Instead, tempers flare, objectivity flies out the window, and chaos ensues.
Have you not just seen that for yourself. And did not Marduk invite you here with a set agenda?

It is always that way. I will keep saying that the only salvation is in these threads being padlocked!!!

You can rant and rave all you want, but the fact remains that the Bible has been the most reliable road-map for archaeological endeavours in the Middle East, therefore, to throw it out is like throwing away an operating manual for a complicated device, is that what you really want to do?

I realize that you passionatly believe what you say. Other folks belief just as strongly to the contrary.

We might as well invite the Methodists and the Baptists to talk here.

Or the Republicans and the Democrats.

How about a few Islamic Fundamentalists?

Didn't realize that I was ranting and raving. I think if you bother to read these many pages you'll see examples of me doing that - but seldom.

I simply want to end these posts by saying these threads should be padlocked!!!

in dating the exodus, he follows the Jewish Historical Chronology, the Sedar Ha Olam, which places the date at 1312 b.c
he also limits the sojourn (according to the chronologies) to 210 years
Okay here is that timeline:

I said that I see references to an invasion rather than any sort of horseshit bible story of an exodus. I did not refer to Wikipedia.
