Kart Hadasht (New City) Carthage

Post by Guest »

Kart Hadasht (Carthage) means New City, so what and where was the Old City?

How do the ruins of ancient Carthage compare with the descriptions of Plato's Atlantis, and when was Carthage founded, and by whom, and how does the fact that Herodotus called these people the Atlantioi play into all of this?

the old city was Tyre which the founding queen Dido left when her husband was murdered in 814 BCE

most schoolboys know that but unfortunately it just hasn't reached fundie creationists just yet

Well lookie here Marduk, Diodorus Siculus (along with Herodotus) referred to the northwest coastal Africans as the Atlantioi, now do you buy it, or will it take a dozen ancient sources for you?

The ancient galleried dolmens in Malaga Province Spain at El Pomeral, Menga, and Viera, are commonly considered to be from circa 2000 B.C., thought to be the earliest megalithic constructions in the region, and there are megalithic constructions at several locations, now submerged offshore, of paved-streets and megalithic walls, so greater sophistication of megalithic building style is found offshore from the 2000 B.C. vintage structures onland, so when did the Ice Age end?

Lame, Marduk, Herodotus and Diodorus Siculus would be fine for any other issue, except one you don't agree with, so, next.

Oh, Marduk, did I forget to say that Herodotus' and Diodorus Siculus' Atlantioi are corroborated with the Berbers calling them the Attalan, the Egyptians calling them the people of Atlantis, and Atland, Atlan, Aztlan, etc., but you say it's all just a coincidence?
