Can anyone tell me more about the hobbit remains found?

Post by Kemet »

You may recall the astonishing reports last year about the discovery of Homo floresiensis, a previously unknown species of human that lived as recently as 13,000 years ago — more recently than the Neanderthals. And unlike the Neanderthals, who are usually described as nasty and brutish, the Flores people were short. A fully grown adult would have been about the same size as one of our kindergartners. When a team of Australian and Indonesian scientists found the first Homo floresiensis, in a cave on the Indonesian island of Flores, its members started referring to her as a “hobbit.” The nickname stuck.

Kemet, there are several different views about the Flores "Hobbitt". My own personal view is that a group of people on an isolated island found themselves in the same position as the pygmy mammoths on Santa Rosa island.

Flores was found to be inhabited by H. Erectus in great antiquity. However he got there, he evidently was eventually trapped there. The reason for his downsizing is the same as the mammoths', in my opinion.

Cheers :)

Beags?

Is that your "realistic" avatar?
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Actually, when I posted a picture of a Beagle, I was expecting someone to tell me that it was a much better looking picture of myself.

Pardons to Kemet for mucking up his topic - but I've got a load of company coming in tomorrow. So...you know what I'll be doing.

Humbug.
