Back to "magic", Arch?

Very enlightening.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

you don't accept the explanations given so i am left with generalities.

yes. the Biblical record is what we have and God could not lie nor would He lie as if He did it would ruin the rest of the message of the Bible and undermine the work of Christ. so for the Bible to be true and trustworthy, that part of the animals in the story also has to be true.

there would be no hope in God's words if one part was not true.

Your 'explanations' are not explanations, Arch.

They are prayers.

Or also commonly referred to as 'wishful thinking'.

Wallace, in his anthro classic "Culture & Personality" notes that when people see a system headed down the tubes, and their coping skills no longer work, they engage in "magical thinking". Thus the fundies speak of "the Rapture".

They mite just as well, they have no future. Likewise, the Jihadim actually believe that they get to spend eternity in Mohammet's Wholy Whorehouse with 12 year old virgins. But again, these turkeys suffering with severe testosterone overdose, dont have a future in the new world order and the global market.

The Levantine zealots are all mysogenistic, and all have seen smart women figure this out and leave for an education and career in the civilized world. As a result, all they have is airhead bimbos to bear their sons, for a few generations now, and thus their intellectual functioning has been in continual decline.

All of the Levantine zealots speak of how corrupt and evil the modern world is, which they do since they lack the talent to compete in it. sour grapes. They may yet, however, find a way to cause a financial panic and bring down the New World Order. But even if so, that wont bring back rule by the warrior class because so many guns are around. Many smart women already know that Smith & Wesson guarantees equal rights for women.

Half of the Israeli army in 1948 was female, and they beat the arabs to establish their national identity despite being outnumbered 20:1 Magical thinking has been used to instill bravery, but bravery in the age of WMD no longer matters. All the Levantine zealots have, as Neitzsche put it, is the "rancor of the impotent".

If the zealots fail to bring down the system, then I'd expect more active case management to begin. There are really effective meds, like LSD 25, that can cure one of "magical thinking".
Any god watching me hasta be bored, and needs to get a life.

I was surprised to learn recently that this whole rapture nonsense only started in the late 1820's. Just a figment of some British guy's imagination.

you are all entitled to your opinions and if you don't believe that is up to you. i have said all i just about can say and judging from your replies, you are caught up in mocking instead of discussing.

they are certainly not prayers, but be forewarned and i would think about what i have said.

A moot question, since they didn't exist.

can't even seriously address a puzzle either, i see. again it is run and hide, not enough courage even to discuss the age of languages. too bad, as i was looking for some serious information as to which language may be the oldest, length of time used, its influences and so on.

would have been interesting to see some facts on the question. but again, they fail to constructively come to the plate with their point of view.

You cannot have "facts" about fairy tales.

Period.

Noah is a literary creation stolen from earlier and more sophisticated cultures. Literary creations 'speak' the words which are put into their mouths by their authors.
