Ratios
Charlie, most of what I find tends to be on the large side of the Width to Thickness Ratio. I interpret that as possibly a less sophisticated approach to making tools than your control group measurements. Overall, are you observing the same?Table 2
Acheulean Handaxe Characteristics
Age 1,600,000 to 150,000 years ago
Metrics Length average is 129 mm
90% of all between 76--181 mm
Length to Width Ratio
(L/W) average is 1.6
90% of all between 1.3--2.1
increases with length
Width to Thickness Ratio
(W/T) average is 1.9
90% of all between 1.4--2.9
Natural selection favors the paranoid

Still tryin'.Charlie Hatchett wrote:Have you tried to approach the presentation from a tool perspective versus an art perspective. Might have more luck that way.
The stratum I believe is Pebble Gravels (early Pleistocene)Your stuff is definitely worked, and I can see that some pieces are no brainer art. What's the context from which your pulling these artifacts? I forgot the exact time frame.
Possibly 450,000+, certainly there were artefacts recovered just down stream and dated at around about this age. (Wymer 1968, pg 246-248)
Seen this one? - it is a little more controversial than the rest - if that is possible.. go on give me your honest opinion.

Note how that line is at 45 degrees to the pebble edge.
picture of the back for completeness.

Perhaps Charlie's Homo Erectus tool wielders developed larger hands because everything is bigger in Texas?
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.
