Similar stuff has been recovered at the site I'm researching, ca. 20 NM SE:

Interestingly Charley, none appear to be pierced, that suggests that either they weren't designed to be carried or that some form of pouch, bag, satchel or backpack was in use.
Common sense says that people did use some form of tote bag but none has yet been found of course.

That, or they were just bored when they made them, and left them where they made them? :? Reminds me of doodling.

I've seen much better efforts from these early Americans. 8)

Good point, the marks or the shape don't seem to be representative of anything so doodling could well be the reason. Could the grooves be from sharpening or polishing something?

Very well could be from sharpening, especially the one from Gault that has the really heavy incisions crisscrossing. :?
