The same kind of dominant gene thing could account for the apparent disappearance of the HNS during hybridization.

Red Hair really does challenge the OOT. I read there are some African albinos or others who loose melanin. OK. But red hair & skin is not from the loss of melanin, but the presence of a red form of melanin.

Where did that come from?
Any god watching me hasta be bored, and needs to get a life.

Check this out DB. For a wiki article it's pretty long. It is about red hair but has some info on Tocharians and includes the pic of your Buddha Buddies ( :? ).

Also, anyone can google "red hair neanderthal" and get the predominant view that red hair has long been thought to be in their genome. I've only brought it up because it now has some verification by science.

As to my earlier point about the continuing extinction, just a couple of thousand years ago there is historical accounting of light haired Bulgarians. Try finding that now. In short, the invasion from the east is evident if one looks at the changing morphology in Europe even today.

There is nothing wrong with this, unless one happens to be an insane person like Hitler. The highest concentration of red hair is now in Scotland. Blonde hair seems to be a relatively new color. I'm not sure about that one.

In any case, the only place on this planet that one can find native red hair and green eyes is where Neanderthal once lived. The whole wiki article is worth checking out. It's my belief that much of the Neanderthal morphology disappeared within 15,000 years of eastern migration.

Forgive what?
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Great!
So, just like the dinosaurs are still among us if you know where to look: birds, so HN is also still among us if you know where to look: redheads!

I love it when a plan comes together! 8)

I'm just starting to get the feeling that when (or if) they ever do construct reliable DNA strands for HE, HNS and HSS they are going to find that they are fully capable of interbreeding and that the genetic differences between Human Types are negligible.

I hope I live long enough to learn the answer.

"God is the immemorial refuge of the incompetent, the helpless, the miserable. They find not only sanctuary in His arms, but also a kind of superiority, soothing to their macerated egos; He will set them above their betters."
-- H. L. Mencken
I'd amend that to read "God is the immemorial refuge of the incompetent, the helpless, the miserable, the insecure, and the opportune. [...]"

You have to take that up with Mencken, who is, unfortunately, dead.

Like modern humans, they also had a hyoid bone in the throat – essential for talking. Neanderthals may well have used some form of language to communicate, although whatever speech they had, it was almost certainly more rudimentary than the language developed by their leaner cousins.
OK, back to the usual. From the Arch. news section.

And the evidence for that is where?

If you scroll down to "Language", you'll see that there is no evidence whatsoever. These attitudes go very deep and won't change any time soon.

That about sums up what I have just being saying to WA on the 'Brain size' thread Beag.
I have no objection to people stating their opinions, I'm pretty good at that myself, my complaint is that they do it as though it was facts!
