Cheney the right person to try & bring down oil prices?
Vice President Dick Cheney is on his way to the Middle East to do something about skyrocketing oil prices. We’ll pause here to give you a chance to stop laughing. Cheney will meet with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Oman and Turkey. The White House says it wants OPEC to increase production.
Cafferty at CNN is the leftist response to Rush Limbaugh. They are both funny. They are both idiots.
The oil situation is extremely serious. The only way to send a stronger message to the Saudi's would be for Bush to go. I'd rather have someone who speaks English.
Shortly after WWII the US made a deal. We keep the house of Saud in power as long as they give us oil at a reasonable price. They are still in power - they need to be reminded of the deal. I'm only glad that Cafferty isn't going.
Got to be busy today but I'll get back to your post Min.
Light Sweet Crude Oil (New York Merc. Exchange) price per barrel:
January market average $92.94
February Market average $94.92
Current average through March 11 $104.34
Today's current read $110.01 (45 minutes to market close)
Cafferty is entertaining as a talking head, I really don't take much seriously from main stream media. The point is this administration's head has been up it's proverbial behind for so long it's brain died of oxygen deprivation.
We just need a 'participation' wake up call in this country. Increased voting numbers is a wee ray of light, but I am not holding my breath.
Okay....I'll get off my soap box and go back to the closet.....

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.
The abrupt resignation yesterday of the top U.S. commander in the Middle East, Admiral William J. "Fox" Fallon, has sparked a new round of speculation that President Bush and Vice President Cheney have some sort of plan in the works to attack Iran before their time is up.

But Obama is consistently outpolling McCain in the red states and if he could pick off one or two of those it would cinch the race. The economy is heading into the shitter and McCain is almost as useless as Bush on that subject. It shall be an interesting few months.
Meanwhile, the GOP just lost Hastert's seat in what had to be as safe a republican district as there was. That has to have them shitting bricks.
It's way too early to talk about the general election, as it won't really start until Oct. 1. But here is how the states voted in the last election. We can see that there are "battleground states" that can go either way, and things change each election.
Most states are firmly one color or the other. Now Obama won Wyoming for instance, but he won't win it in the fall. Over 50% of the Wyoming Dem. party is black. Considering how many blacks live in Wyoming should give you a good idea of the size of the Dem, party there. Same with Idaho.
On a personal note, I am pulling for Obama to win the nomination while most Reps. are pulling for Hillary. It will be a more civil race I think, plus the Latino vote will then go for McCain I believe. That turns California red.
Anyway that list is fun to look at, and I'll put it and others up when we get to the general.
NEW YORK (AP) - Bear Stearns Cos. (BSC) (BSC), one of Wall Street's venerable investment banks, received a bailout Friday by the federal government and JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) (JPM) in a surprise, last-ditch effort to save the 86-year old institution.

Sure, McCain (hereafter known as Mac, so I don't have to type it) will have to explain that comment more than once. No big deal.
We have no control over the damn Fed. They are the people who own this country and much of the world. The descendents of the old "robber barons" like J.P. Morgan.
Everything Ron Paul said was correct about our financial structure. But does he think we can actually go back to the gold standard? As they say in New Hampshire, "you can't get there from here".
Nor can we wrest the money back away from a Congress that steals the retirement funds of our Senior citizens. It's gone.
All we can do is keep the socialists from grabbing any more of our economy. If we don't the world monetary system will collapse.

For a party that loves to hate the Clintons, Republican voters have cast an awful lot of ballots lately for Senator Hillary Clinton: About 100,000 GOP loyalists voted for her in Ohio, 119,000 in Texas, and about 38,000 in Mississippi, exit polls show.
I think the people doing this are all wrong. And I wish Rush Limbaugh would dry up and blow away!
I've seen a lot of elections, and too many things can "happen". They should vote for Obama, as I did.
This article is about H. Clinton's chances to win the nomination. Other sources put her chances at 25%. This is much higher than it was in January.
As I've said, the Reps, imo, have this all wrong. For me ideally, the fall campaign between Obama and Mac would be all about the issues. It would be a civil debate between two intelligent people, and then the people would decide.
If the Clintons are involved, they will interject lies and demonization. They will try to convince the people that the economy is in a stae of collapse and that we are losing a hopeless war in Iraq. They're good at that.
In the meantime. T. Boone Pickens is buying stock as fast as he can.
And many other "doomed to lose" folks are buying gold - from Pickens.
They will try to convince the people that the economy is in a stae of collapse and that we are losing a hopeless war in Iraq.
And they would be correct.
