Just thought you might like to know about this new book out by a friend of mine, Stuart Notholt.
It's a comprehensive and up-to-date atlas of ethnic conflict since the fall of the Berlin Wall and it's called Fields of Fire.
It's a book, but some of the content is also on the website, including free downloads of maps:

It is..it's a real tour de force. He's been beavering away on it for years. It's a total obsession. Every time we meet for a drink he insists on telling me where the latest ethnic conflict has broken out, and the background to it all. Luckily, I'm reasonably enough interested in it to listen to him .... but also, luckily, I'm not his girlfriend - I think I would quickly tire of his pillow talk!
He was originally going to call it The Killing Fields - but then opted for the softer Fields of Fire. I think he should have stuck with The Killing Fields... a much sexier title.

I think "Killing Fields" has been used.
In fact, Dith Pran just passed away a few months ago.

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.
