WASHINGTON (AP) — On a day oil prices leaped to unheard-of highs, senators lined up Big Oil's biggest executives and pummeled them with complaints that they're pretending to be "hapless victims" while raking in record profits.
If I recall from my old accounting classes, "profit" is what you make after you meet your costs. Therefore, record "profits" merely represent them making more money AFTER they pay the higher price for crude oil. I hope at least one senator took an accounting class.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.
My knowledge of accounting is the same as yours Min. It's the same every year. Prices should come down after Memorial day, but this year has set records.
It is time for gov't intervention I think, and that isn't something I say often.
Same over here gentlemen, only we pay twice as much as you do and the politicians are using the same platitudes 'cos the exchequer is broke and it's raking in record tax revenues.

Not going to happen with this bunch in charge, Beags. The Oil companies are going to make hay while their boy is in the White House. They'll deal with the indictments if the Dems win.
