BLUE EYES?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... -city.html
"The mummy sat in a deep hole walled in with crumbling bricks. A pair of large blue eyes glared menacingly from its wooden face mask."
Am I the only one that thinks that is odd?

We've had discussions before about red-haired mummies in South America. Red-hair and blue eyes do seem like a Celtic thing, though, don't they?
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Despite the facts that
1.) There are no freakin' handaxes in North America
and
2.) None of this pre-Clovis rant applies.

"People with blue eyes have a single, common ancestor, according to new research.
A team of scientists has tracked down a genetic mutation that leads to blue eyes. The mutation occurred between 6,000 and 10,000 years ago. Before then, there were no blue eyes."
http://www.livescience.com/health/080131-blue-eyes.html
"From this we can conclude that all blue-eyed individuals are linked to the same ancestor," Eiberg said. "They have all inherited the same switch at exactly the same spot in their DNA."
And so, the question is..how did that mutation get to SA??? HUMMM Can't imagine they'd stick the wrong color eyes on the mummy...or that they'd even concieve of blue eyes unless they'd seen them.

The blue eyes were painted on the wooden mask of course. The person herself did not have blue eyes. And the blue eyes on close inspection looks more grey-silver than blue.
But be that as it may, in Ancient America blue paint often represents water and of course is related to blood being shed so that rain may come and in that grave were the remains of sacrificed children.
So the mask may represent a rain god mask--most death masks in the Ancient Americas are god masks. And the sacrificed children help appease the rain god.

Barracuda,
A disproportionate number of gunfighters in the old West would have had blue eyes since a disproportionate number would have been Anglo-Saxons and Scandinavians at that time in our history.
Italians, Poles, Sicilians, Jewish folks, other central and eastern European folks, even green and brown eyed Irish had not yet arrived in big numbers in America. Most of them are not blue eyed and came later. And of course this leaves out the Hispanic population and that is another story. They would have been under the gun at that time.

Isn't there a ledgend about a tall blond, blue-eyed man that traveled through Peru (then up to Central America and Mexico I believe). I remember reading it in one of my books, but I haven't manged to get them unpacked. It was one of those books on America before Columbus, just can't remember which one. They say the first thing to go with old age is the memory.

Viracocha. I don't know that he was bue-eyed but he was said to be bearded, as I recall.

Graham Hancock thought so. FOTG deals with that subject.

The Caucasian Quetzalcoatl appears in no indigenous native Mexican record (whether recorded oral, written, or sculptural) until Sahugun's account (roughly 50 years after the conquest) and given the Mexican tendency to use history not so much as a record as a means of explaining the present, it seems extremely likely that this (along with reputed "predictions" of Quetzalcoatl's return (note how in older myths he didn't actually leave in the first place) as Cortez) is simply another example of the same.Leona Conner wrote:That's the guy. In one of my readings he was described as being fair skinned, bearded and having "emerald" eyes. He is believed to be the one the Aztecs called Quetzalcoatl, who is described as being fair and bearded. He's an interesting subject.
