That's the same-hypothetical- pictures we've already seen about four times.
Could someone PM me when the thread shows some sign of actually having a point?

i went back and checked ciko's posts. sometimes his english is good, other times it is like his present post. which tells me that he knows english really well and playing everyone for fools or he is just a lousy typist.

I'm a little dissappointed. This is the first set of pics that look entirely natural to me. Not that I would know but the rock seems to be of natural concretion that has cracked linearly by something like an upthrusting of the underlying ground.

Well, I really was hoping this pyramid story would turn out to be true...wasn't betting on it but still I hoped it might just be a great new discovery. OK, I admit I wasn't reading the text of this topic (16 pages...ewww) and was just looking at the pictures, but I just got done reading the Archaeology magazine post and it pretty well sealed it for me, at least as far as anything Osmanagic has to say.

Here are some choice quotes they dug up from one of his books on Mayan pyramids:

"It is my theory that the Maya should be considered watchmakers of the cosmos whose mission it is to adjust the Earthly frequency and bring it into accordance with the vibrations of our Sun."

"These facts become exceptionally important when we realize that we are rapidly approaching December 2012, a date which the Maya have marked as the time of arrival of the Galactic Energy Cluster which will enlighten us."

"The Mayan hieroglyphics tell us that their ancestors came from the Pleiades... first arriving at Atlantis where they created an advanced civilization."

This Maya stuff is pure bunk of the highest order. If Osmanagic is the leader of this Bosnian pyramid venture I am inclined to think it too is bunk. I also was unaware that the pyramid was claimed to be the fantasticly old age of 12,000 years; a time before agriculture, domestication of animals, writing, or even pottery (in that region). Furthermore, the pics of the digs have not revealed anything so far that I can see. Sadly, barring something like the discovery of a sarcophagus carbon dating to 12,000 years old, I now am firmly on the side of the unbelievers.

Looks that way to me, too, so far. I have a hunch something
interesting will be found there, but what? Osmanagic has
fouled his own nest, I think....however, there are people who
will believe anything they are told about extra-terrestrials,
cosmic vibrations, Atlantis, etc. Osmaanagic is the Geraldo Rivera of
archeology.

Some of rocks appeared to be abutted with straight- line joints.
BUt when you pull back and look at the larger picture, the joints
"craze" and run off inconsistently in different directions, as if the rocks were
cracked apart along fault lines rather than being joined there.
THe geology is kind of interesting. There is some conglomerate
rock that seems to be made of seashells, then yellowish sandstone, and
some other material.

The article in ARchaeology points out that the world's media guoted
everything Os said as if he were really an authority. THere's a lot of
ignorance out there!

beacuse they have not visited this place , they haven't see anything

like those bosnian archelogist, they havent visited this place that is why i can not believe them, when osmangich asked one of them what this stone blocks were , he had no answer

so how can i believe such people

one of the those who signed the petition against escavation changed his meind after a visit today , he shall join the excavation i think, because he said that this building is not from romanian empire, or medival bosnia

Yeah, Oz is a bit of a weirdo. But it reminds me of Heinrich Schliemann when he discovered Troy (one of them anyway). He made a real mess of things but in the end he made a great discovery. One can only hope.

Good pix, Ciko. Even if those 'stairs' were not constructed but rather chiselled out of existing rock, they certainly do not look like natural features.

Irrespective of Osmanagic's looney cosmic Atlantian rants the pictures posted in this thread look like natural formations to me. A quick google of "rock layers" and "layered rock" came up with these pics:

The first one is a picture of rock layers in Death Valley that look like the "stairs" cited above. The other two, with their straight lines and squared off corners come from pictures taken by the Mars rovers and are in fact pictures of rocks on Mars. No chance they are man made. They look just like all the pics of the "stone blocks" posted throughout this thread. I am far from convinced.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs. So far I have not seen it. Coupled with the "Chariots of the Gods" mindset of Osmanagic my skepticism is well founded.

For expert on the "geological stratigrafy"..stop theorising somethin what is not your area .All exavation result have been publicised and they explicit proof that this structures are in mess from geological and petrografical point...point that humans have played with the material on the hill.Did they want to build piramid or it is somethin else...we will see.
