Let's see, they were discovered in 2006 and we haven't heard a peep out of Das Club, must not be reading the news.

It makes me think that the people sponsoring the event had to wait for someone to retire or even die before they made them public

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.
