Barbarians?

The Old World is a reference to those parts of Earth known to Europeans before the voyages of Christopher Columbus; it includes Europe, Asia and Africa.

Barbarians?

Post by kbs2244 »

And how long have we thought of them as cave dwelling “barbarians”
Because of the Greek description of them?

The Greeks considered any non-Greek a barbarian. Kind of like Sarah Palin and "real Americans!"
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Barbarian

Min, as you are aware, the Greek word "barbaros" translated to "foreigner" - anyone non-Greek. Only in recent times has the term taken on negative connotations, with the exception of Palin of course. :D
