The Western Hemisphere. General term for the Americas following their discovery by Europeans, thus setting them in contradistinction to the Old World of Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Reforestation and The "Little Ice Age"

Post by Minimalist »

An interesting article from Science Daily which speculates that the devastating plagues which wiped out whole populations in the America's led to harsh winters back in Europe. For your consideration.

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

The unspoken assumption is that there was a whole lot of advanced life going on in the Americas before the "discovery."

A far cry from a bunch of "Noble Savages" wandering around in the woods in touch with nature.

Precisely.

One might stretch the point to suggest that without the general de-population of the Americas the Europeans would have been driven back into the sea.
