YD impact evidence at Topper
From TAC:
Friends and colleagues: The search for the first Americans remains a high-profile quest sparking lots of debate. You can get familiar with some of the recent thinking on the subject, with a focus on South Carolina’s Topper Site, by watching Finding Clovis, the latest video feature on our nonprofit streaming-media Web site, The Archaeology Channel (http://www.archaeologychannel.org).
This is an archaeological adventure at the Topper Site in Allendale County, South Carolina, famous for Clovis and possibly pre-Clovis artifacts. Here, early humans were coming to ancient chert quarries, making rudimentary knives and other tools. Recent evidence found by the team lead by Dr. Al Goodyear may support the idea that a comet suddenly wiped out the Clovis Culture 13,000 years ago. World-renowned scientists offer their opinions about these significant first Americans—where they came from, how they lived, and what may have been their fate.
This and other programs are available on TAC for your use and enjoyment. We urge you to support this public service by participating in our Membership (http://www.archaeologychannel.org/member.html) and Underwriting (http://www.archaeologychannel.org/sponsor.shtml) programs. Only with your help can we continue and enhance our nonprofit public-education and visitor-supported programming. We also welcome new content partners as we reach out to the world community.

Nice site, E.P.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Hi min -
Note the dead car special there. If you want to recommend my book to your friends, or give them copies as gifts, now is a really really good time to do it.

E.P. if Michelle doesn't mind the occasional commercial message neither do I.

The dead car special worked for me. Thanks for the quick delivery, E.P. Now if I can just get time to read it... maybe I can find a place to hide.
Regards,
Barry

This seems like a reasonable place to put this.

A thousand years after the last ice age ended, the Northern Hemisphere was plunged back into glacial conditions. For 20 years, scientists have blamed a vast flood of meltwater for causing this 'Younger Dryas' cooling, 13,000 years ago. Picking through evidence from Canada's Mackenzie River, geologists now believe they have found traces of this flood, revealing that cold water from North America's dwindling ice sheet poured into the Arctic Ocean, from where it ultimately disrupted climate-warming currents in the Atlantic.

I read that article too Min. Falling on the heels of that take on the YD impact, the Royal Astronomical Society is getting in the act.

New theory suggests that earth was struck by a number of Tunguska like impacts over about an hour from the tail of a deteriorating comet.

Hi Dig. I'm doing the same as always. I am in several scientific forums, usually reading and learning. Currently I like paleoanthropology, southeast asian paleoanthropology in particular, and a genetics forum. I still look in here regular to see what's going on. I'm not getting any younger, that's for sure. Good to see you.
Re: YD impact evidence at Topper
Southeast asian paleoanthropology? Well perhaps you could shed some light here then Beag, that area seems to be where it's all happening, and along with other posters here I damn certain we'd like to hear what you have to say.
It's been too long.
Roy.

I'm just wondering when Frank Hibben's reputation and honor will be restored, and his work recognized.Minimalist wrote:This seems like a reasonable place to put this.

Besides that, there may have been a massive impact in the ice sheet at Lloydminster, Alberta.Beagle wrote:I read that article too Min. Falling on the heels of that take on the YD impact, the Royal Astronomical Society is getting in the act.

Beagle, you want to tell them the news about the massive impact in Malaysia and its effect on HE-HSS?
Re: YD impact evidence at Topper
Hello EP, nice to meet you. I don't know anything about the Malaysian impact I'm afraid. I've only kept up with news about the YD impact. I was at Topper when Al Goodyear first told me about it during supper one evening, and I've never lost interest. Please let us know about it though as it probably has an impact (pun intended) on the history of the area.
