8,000-ish BC Atlatl Dart Found in Yellowstone.

The Western Hemisphere. General term for the Americas following their discovery by Europeans, thus setting them in contradistinction to the Old World of Africa, Europe, and Asia.

The upside of global warming, perhaps?
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

I guess I should start keeping my head down a bit more on some of these mountain ascents I've been making lately. Can't wait to see what we dig up at the base of Mt. Uncompahgre. I'll make sure to keep my eyes open on the way to the summit on the final day. Might find a matching set. Archaeo lawn darts, anyone? :)

That guy has a good eye.
I sure wouldn’t have seen it as a dart.

Hi Min, I would like to point out the obvious. Since we are retrieving artifacts from earlier Holocene epochs that were subsequently buried in ice, we are now returning to world temperatures in prior existence. This appears to be Global Variation as opposed to serious Global Warming. Notify me when we move beyond the warmth of the Holocene Maximum, and then I'll push the Panic Button.

Hey, Cogs....

But what will India do when 100,000,000 Bangla Deshis show up on their front stoop asking for a towel?

...and what will the USA do when 90% of Florida, half of Louisiana, and hundreds of miles of the current eastern US seaboard, including Philadelphia, Baltimore and New York are flooded?
And what will the Germans do when 15 million Dutch come knocking? Wooden shoes won't be enough this time around to keep dry feet (their original purpose).
And, and, and.

what will the USA do

The Republicans will still claim that global warming is a myth and the Dems will say "we told ya, so!"

Might have to wait sometime gentlemen. This chap's been a large thorn in Gore's side for quite some time, I have yet to see anyone put him down.

So India and Bangla Desh are still disputing this island?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8584665.stm
A tiny island claimed for years by India and Bangladesh in the Bay of Bengal has disappeared beneath the rising seas, scientists in India say.

The uninhabited territory south of the Hariabhanga river was known as New Moore Island to the Indians and South Talpatti Island to the Bangladeshis.

Recent satellites images show the whole island under water, says the School of Oceanographic Studies in Calcutta.

I hope they don't go to war over it. They'll need submarines!

:D

RS, the best I can find is an average annual rise of 2cm per year for ocean sea levels; or, one meter every 50 years. As opposed to inundating Florida tomorrow, try a one meter increase on this flood map software: http://flood.firetree.net/?ll=-27.8390, ... 13&m=2&t=1.

Cog:
That is a great link!
I am sure it will take some time to use it well,
But it looks like it will be worth the effort.
Thanks
