If I remember, the original Barona lands and water were taken for a reservoir to serve the city of San Diego and they then bought the old Spanish hacienda. Perhaps the real issue here is the water supply for that residential subdivision, and their fears of more nearby residential expansion, taking even more water, and thus making their remaining lands useless.

Very close to true. Part of the original reservation was traded by the City of San Diego for land up on the mesa west of the original canyon for a resevoir. But they had already claimed that mesa as part of their holy land and had lost it in the past. They acquired it as part of the trade. They do claim it as sacred land that they can do what they want with. Motocross, drag racing, paintball, and mostly, a casino. There has been talk of a stadium for the San Diego Chargers. I would support that. I've heard my neighborhood (San Diego Country Estates) sits atop a sacred burial ground... OK... I saw the movie. I actually worked security on the set. Not concerned.

What about "you stole our land" don't you understand? What about forcing NAs onto crappy plots of land to live developing the bogus blood quantum system to "classify" your relatives and tell them where they can live and who they are.
