Divide and Conquer is as old a military maxim as there is.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

This seems to indicate that a coastal defense fort attributed to Solomon was actually Assyrian.

Consistent with the general down-dating of structures in Judaea that's been going on for a while now. What were initially trumpeted as Solomon's "stables" at Megiddo are now attributed to Ahab and the Omride Dynasty a hundred+ years later.

All of this is based on the findings that prior to the 8th century BC there was not much in Judaea worth dating. Judaea did prosper as part of the Assyrian economic sphere though.
