And your questions were answered but you don't like the answers. I can't help that.
But a god with blood dripping from his hands who is somehow the basis for all morality, now there is something to get one's teeth into.

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

there are so many elements that factor in this which yu would not accept so there is no point in addressing this topic. But a god with blood dripping from his hands who is somehow the basis for all morality, now there is something to get one's teeth into
one of your errors, though, is that you don't allow God to do anything but be lovey-dovey. He has His laws and punishment for breaking them is not always nice. you think you can live your life breaking His laws and still get to heaven? that would be hypocrisy and sin. punishment, no matter if you agree with it or not, will be meted out.

There is no heaven or hell, arch, that's just a tale to frighten children. I can see in your case that it worked.
So, let met get this straight: Your god, a murderous, blood-thirsty, vainglorious being who insists on being worshipped is nonetheless "moral" because he is "god". Thus, when he says "Thou Shalt Not Kill" there was really a codicil which said "except those who I direct you to exterminate."
Sounds more like Hitler, to me.

Governments actually DO punish law breakers, you know.
There is nothing theoretical about it. We have the prisons to prove it.
God on the other hand has never been shown to have punished anyone.
Funny how that works.

No arch....only bubble headed bible believers believe (nice alliteration, eh!) that silliness....oh, and the ancient Egyptians, too.
The rest of us have to keep an eye out for George Bush watering down our civil liberties in the name of 'protecting' us..... the mantra of tyrants throughout history, btw.
So....still no explanation for mass murder being highly moral, huh?
I'll wait. Why not drop the pope an e-mail....maybe he can help you out. After all, he served in the German army.

yes your liberties are going out the window, too bad.The rest of us have to keep an eye out for George Bush watering down our civil liberties in the name of 'protecting' us.....
any explanation i would offer would fly over your head and you would still condemn it. suffice it to say that God's actions are just even though you do not understand it. remember you are reading the result, you do not know the whole story so until you are privy to all the facts, i wouldn't hurl any insults if i were you.So....still no explanation for mass murder being highly moral, huh?
i do not believe in the pope nor is he of my faith. he is a wasted figurehead. Why not drop the pope an e-mail....

suffice it to say that God's actions are just even though you do not understand it.
And therein lies the rub. Your 'god' was created to give moral cover to the actions of men. Men who were capable of writing "Thou Shalt Not Kill" with one hand and merrily crushing the skulls of defenseless prisoners on the other.
Real Big Heros.
i do not believe in the pope nor is he of my faith. he is a wasted figurehead.
All you bible thumpers are the same.....he just has fancier clothes.

BTW, here's what religion is good for. Have a little fun with it!

HELL, Mich. (AP) - They're planning a hot time in Hell on Tuesday. The day bears the date of 6-6-06, or abbreviated as 666 - a number that carries hellish significance. And there's not a snowball's chance in Hell that the day will go unnoticed in the unincorporated hamlet 60 miles west of Detroit.
Nobody is more fired up than John Colone, the town's self-styled mayor and owner of a souvenir shop.
"I've got '666' T-shirts and mugs. I'm only ordering 666 (of the items) so once they're gone, that's it," said Colone, also known as Odum Plenty. "Everyone who comes will get a letter of authenticity saying you've celebrated June 6, 2006, in Hell."
Most of Colone's wares will sell for $6.66, including deeds to one square inch of Hell.

Hey, at least they're having some fun which is more than I can say for people who think it is real!
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

Organized religion is a sham and a crutch for weak-minded people who need strength in numbers. It tells people to go out and stick their noses in other people's business. I live by the golden rule: Treat others as you'd want them to treat you. The religious right wants to tell people how to live.

To true to pass up:
"Among the most detestable villains in history, you could not find one worse than Moses. Here is an order, attributed to 'God' to butcher the boys, to massacre the mothers and to debauch and rape the daughters. I would not dare so dishonor my Creator's name by (attaching) it to this filthy book (the Bible)."

yes i have dealt with that in another forum and all i can say is that was a stupid move. also, he didn't invoke God but shouted "...if he exists." so i doubt he was a true believer but instead was just tempting God which is a no-no.Definitely not "Intelligently Designed."
a few of those don't make sense, some are just off the wall while most need more explanation than i can give at this time. i think the complexities of being a believer escape you as you rely on observations that fail to investigate the reasons behind the actions.Enjoy.
but it is nice to see you post a one-sided set of observations. where is the other side of the story to make this objective? or balanced?
