brief excerpt :

Houston anthropologist, Dr. Semir Osmanagich, founder of the Bosnian Archaeology Park, the most active archaeology site in the world, declares that irrefutable scientific evidence exists of ancient civilizations with advanced technology that leaves us no choice but to change our recorded history. An examination of the age of structures across the earth reveals conclusively that they were built by advanced civilizations from over 29,000 years ago.

Acknowledging that we are witness to fundamental proof of advanced civilizations dating back over 29,000 years and an examination of their societal structures forces the World to reconsider its understanding of the development of civilization and history,” explains Dr. Semir Osmanagich.“Conclusive data at the Bosnian Pyramid site revealed in 2008 and confirmed this year by several independent labs who conducted radio carbon testing dates the site at 29,400 +/-400 years, minimum.

The Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids, now in the eighth year of excavation, spans six square kilometers in the Visoko River Basin 40km northwest of Sarajevo. Comprised of four ancient pyramids almost three times the size of Giza and an extensive subterranean pyramid tunnel complex, new discoveries each year continue to reveal proof of a much different history of mankind on earth. The central pyramid of the Sun rises a colossal 420 meters in to the air and has a mass of millions of tons. By comparison the Great pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) in the Giza plateau is 146 meters high, making the Bosnian Pyramids the largest and oldest known pyramids on the planet.

The 14C dates are most probably valid; but what is being dated exactly?

There's a lot to to be scoffed at re. the Bosnian pyramids and Osmanagich .

Thanks Irna for the public service .

Had you troubled to read the article, you wouldn't be asking.

Sure...if Oz says it it MUST be true.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

People, IMO, are basket cases. Really. All of us. We start out discussing something and, the minute a disagreement comes up, we revert to the Belief program we're hardwired for without even noticing it.

First of all, Sam was a building contractor when he lived in Houston, not an archaeologist.

"... the most active archaeology site in the world ..."? I think not.

"... irrefutable scientific evidence ..."? Pure BS

"... ancient civilizations with advanced technology ..." Such as?

"... no choice but to change our recorded history ..." Life is always full of choices. Choosing to ignore Sam is another option.

The onsite Bosnian "experts" believe that a super civilization existed immediately prior to and during the LGM in an area that would have been incredibly frigid and glaciated at the time. No population traces are evident, only natural geological formations at the Bosnian Amusement Park.

I thought the idea behind these pyramids was the they were sculpted natural features, not built from bare ground.

Absolutely correct. These are supposed to be sculpted pyramids. However, Sam is claiming that a civilization did the sculpting about 29kya. Civilizations leave behind plenty of traces; housing, roadways, garbage, etc. Where are the remains of civilization? Underground?

I have read the article; in fact, I have read almost everything published about these "pyramids".
Osmanagic has dated "organic material": what kind of material exactly do you think it was? And how does this material relate to the supposed archaeological context?

Since the beginning of the "excavations", Osmanagic has dated various plant debris without any archaeological context. No wonder that he obtained dates ranging from 3000 BP to 34 000 BP....

To learn more about these datations, and why it is absolutely useless to make random datations of every bit of fossil wood or leaf sampled in sediments, you can read these:

You cannot introduce a crackpot into an argument and expect to be taken seriously.

Lots of good, reasonable questions here.

"Sculpted natural features" 420 meters high ? Surpassing the height of the great pyramid at Gaza ? Far higher than any in Mesopotamia and/or Central America ? And several of these in one complex ? That's off the chart.

I've been up and down the Appalachians ; Northern Alabama to northern New Hampshire/Vermont. Never seen a natural pyramid or anything even close to one. Didn't see one up in the Colorado Rockies, either.

However it turns out, pretty interesting, IMO.

Or, depending on your perspective . . . not.

Whatever. 8)

The most only interesting aspect is why anyone buys this nonsense .
