How did we miss this one?

Fascinating article, Circ.
I always wonder about the mechanism which caused such dispersal.

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

I always wonder why they tease us with a splashy headline & minimal info, then fail to follow up on it.Minimalist wrote:Fascinating article, Circ.

It's not like I'm being impatient... It's been months since that article was published.

This is a review of apparently 3 articles but I agree that it is annoying that it does not tell us what the 3 articles were.

Eske Wilerslev is one of the most respected geneticists studying ancient humans and migrations today, up there with Svante Paabo and his lab: http://news.ku.dk/all_news/2011/2011.9/ ... w-history/"These guys were very distantly related to Denisovans, but by no means Denisovan," Willerslev told Live Science. "They were even more distantly related to Neanderthals, and they might have been even more distantly related to modern humans. We believe that they interbred with modern humans shortly before modern humans crossed into the ancient continent of Sahul — what is now Australia, New Guinea and Tasmania — some 50,000 to 60,000 years ago."
Who were the archaics in the Aborigines' trysts? I suspect Asian H. erectus. So does M. Wolpoff (source: personal email).
