You claim that Osmanagich has government approval for this dig, yet you vilify state archaeologists for not getting involved? If they aren't taking part, it's because they haven't been authorised to do so. If they haven't been authorised, it sounds suspiciously like the Bosnian government is happy to bankroll Osmanagich to do the dirty work and then A) take all the credit if he does find something B) be the first to crucify him as a fraud if he doesn't. Either way, I'd say they're quite successfully hedging their bets.stellarchaser wrote:Do you really think that someone can start excavations on protected site without official approvals? My guess is that local archeologists have no balls to join, because they are afraid that they are going to be embarrased later on, if nothing is found. On the other hands, they will be embarrased too if crew achive major findings and discoveries... That's why they are against the project. They would rather not to touch anything, and to keep status quo...well buried under the hill. I understand their fear - if they join, they could suffer. If they don't, they could suffer too. It's not nice position. But at least they could have join as independent experts, overseing the excavations. But they are too affraid to do anything now.
Which is really dissapointing, must say. As I said, Visococa hill is archeological site, and lots of archeological discoveries can be expected there - from prehistory, over roman to modern times. That monolith with unknown inscriptions in the tunnel is one of such things. Or maybe even a pyramid, too eh?

Ah....... the bane of the professional's existence, there.local archeologists have no balls to join, because they are afraid to be embarrased later on
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

I am of the opinion that the boat that the Bosnian archaeologists are in is a very, very large one.My guess is that local archeologists have no balls to join, because they are afraid to be embarrased later on, if nothing is found. Osmanagic's Website
Have any of the regular readers of this debate (if it can be called such) looked at Osmanagic's website of late? I was frustrated by the lack of rigorous critical analysis by some of the posters here, but was taken aback by the breadth of ignorance going on over at the Osman's website! Too funny and sad really. First I was greeted by this (on the front page):
Pyramids created by UFO???
Atlantis on the Altiplano?
Ancient "Bermuda Triangle"?
All came from space
Atlantis?
Where do the Illuminati fit into this picture?
Curiosity got the better of me and I just had to read up on some of the fascinating topics and was richly rewarded. Some examples:
from the "Atlantis?" thread:
I recommend taking a quick look at Osmanagic's site. It is "enlightening" to see what is being debated over there and how. Thanks again to Michelle H for her good efforts here. The contrast is startling.
Don't you just love how the Wizard of Os takes it upon himself to rename hills and moutains at a whim (I have to admit Temple of the Earth is easier for me to pronounce than Krstac Hill, but come on...) Right off the bat I was shaking my head but I looked further on the Osman's website, pat all the pictures of natural rock formations and hills with lines drawn on them that we are all familiar with, and on to find the forum. Now that is where things really get nutty. Some choice topics include:"Representatives of the “Archeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” Foundation assigned the names to the two new pyramidal structures in Visoko valley – Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids. As of today Krstac and Cemerac hills are named the Temple of Earth and Pyramid of Love, which according to Semir Osmanagic, the President of the Foundation, have a meaning."

Curiosity got the better of me and I just had to read up on some of the fascinating topics and was richly rewarded. Some examples:
from the "Atlantis?" thread:
and this response:"So far nobody on God's green earth can prove to me that this is not Atlantis. Ladies and Gentlemen, people have been looking for Atlantis for the last 80+ years, they have looked around the world but they never bothered to check the center of the planet, BOSNIA!"
and further this:"No no no, you are all wrong. It's not Atlantis built pyramids but PEOPLE that was taught BY ATLANTIS.
People thousands years ago didn't have knowledge even how to make a fire
I agree with Prophet but only that Atlantis had something to do with it.
Tell me why all pyramids over the world are almost the same???!!! It's not a coincidence "
From "Pyramids Created by UFO???":"if you want my opinion on atlantis, its on antarctica.
if you want to know why i think that, get yourself a globe put some ice on north america and make that your new north pole..."
and from "Ancient "Bermuda Triangle"?":"First sorry for my bad english.
In America, Egypt and Asia there are lots of pyramids. And they are ~in the same parallel!
How it is possible that people built ~the same buildings in different parts of the world?!
It is said that the first to discover America from Europe were Vikings!
My theory is that long long time ago something happened with all people in the world. Maybe they were taken to spaceship and aliens shown them some plans? Such lesson to every nation/culture.
I think these pyramids from Bosnia were built to similarity to egyptians. People had not many stone so they built on the ground by plates.
What do you think about it?"
There are indeed some few logical people trying to post on the forum there but they are for the most part shouted down. Many places just are raging flame wars. A prime example of this is found in the resonable forum topic called "Pyramid denied?" In that forum topic we are treated to such enlightening debate such as:"In my new theory, ancient Golden Traingle was Bosnian Great Pyramid, Atlantis and Great Pyramid of Giza.
If Atlantis is near Crete that ok, but what if is behind Achilles gate? It results that Egypt isn't center of the world pyramid!!!
I must analyse this very accurate."
and"Professor is just one provocateur. (If Jew and the "real" professor!?) he just can not stand the fact there was the history and civilizations before Hebrew people came to the scene. That's why they gonna try to stop all activities or to spit on everybody who works seriously on the project, at least. Look his dirty language, showing how Jews simply hate Egyptians; "Egyptians are dilettantes.." Not only Egyptian geologist Aly Abd Alla Barakat, but all Egyptians, see the difference.
How silly is he saying that British and French discovered pyramids. If those words come from one professor, than you have it. To make the long story short, "British, so much as Jews, are superior nations" - that's how they think and act throughout the history. So for one British is enough 15 minutes on the scene to come to the conclusion. How brave are those people!!! Shame we are all not British (or Jews). The head of EAA Mr. Anthony should have been sent to Iraq three years ago to conclude there was not the weapon of mass destruction before those brave nations destroyed the country.
Oh, this world must be happy having such angels around."
and even"And you are.... his lawyer, or who!? You should read more carefully what and how he writes. His attitude is typically Jew ego-trip: "First We, we, we and then everybody else". And about Harding, if he was on the locations just for 15 min. to see two natural stones (and some cows) and then go out with such an imbecile announcement then he is, either an idiot, too old and blind or just the member of that establishment who rule the world. The establishment who "teach" us (idiots) what's right and what's wrong. No one can imagine the proportion of this discovery but one thing is sure; this could break all the knowledge about human civilization and its begining. And that's why Ezra and company are so upset."
I think that last quote was refering to the Wizard of Osmanagic himself."Its a m0ther fucking pyramid...... coming from an extremely well educated american who knows an extensive amount of facts... dont be ignorant......."
I recommend taking a quick look at Osmanagic's site. It is "enlightening" to see what is being debated over there and how. Thanks again to Michelle H for her good efforts here. The contrast is startling.

I make a point of visiting the website at least once a week, but I only ventured into the forum once, a few weeks ago. I've only just stopped laughing.
This is what a professional excavation looks like btw http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edi ... 083330.stm

it's funny but
it is funny, must say, but also there are examples in history that dreamers achieved their dreams...and discover many things. I've heard that Einstein was very bad at school for example, or that scientists laughed at possibility for a man to fly. i think that dreamers are immportant part of history, which would be so bored without them.
Inquisition, that what upset's me.

This 'official' people are invited to come to work even today, But they have an issue with their pride to work with a Mr Osmanagic, Six months ago they were able to talk loud but now since project is well underway and results can be seen they trying to bring International people to talk against. They have chance to work with an experts from Egypt...but No...he does not know about pyramid....Guy from Exter will know in 15 minutes. Just to get on top of the Visocica Hill you need 30 minutes...but he done everything in 15....what an expert....RK Awl-O'Gist wrote: Morning Beagle,
I suppose it would be easier for the Bosnian government just to appoint a few reknowned diggers to a project. All they would have to do is give them fixed-term contracts and pay their wages themselves. Trouble with that is that they might then pressure them to find what the government wants, and not what's actually there.
I can't remember if someone said the government is bankrolling this or not, but it would have to be massively in the country's national interests before they would do that, I think. There might also be some kind of personal friction with Osmanagich which is getting in the way too.
Yamemaru,
If those are tunnels, the people who allegedly built them must have been dwarves with the body mass of a modern supermodel!
Normally if everything is ok and these people are professionals they will talk to Foundation, Foundation have invited experts through the embassy in Sarajevo, Same thing is done with a Mexico experts. At the moment there is big number of the people involved at least 10. I know that you guys want the names...Why? Even If I give you names u will want more...I dont need to justify things 2 u ...Welcome to see....Even when pyramid is out...I know u will question you 'cyber archaeologists...digging the forums,,,, move on

why is it always other people who have the problem? could it not be that Os is a flake and no one wants to work with him because he is off the wall? reading freethinker's quotes i see where the evidence points in that direction. But they have an issue with their pride to work with a Mr Osmanagic,
About the tunnels under visocica hill... From bosnianpyramid.com:

9 April 2006
Local people also reported hearing echoes
Local Bosnian Enver Buza, who was at Visocica during the war, witnessed a strange phenomenon at the Bosnia Pyramid of the Sun. When a bomb exploded near the pyramid, he heard the explosion as if it had travelled through the mountain itself. He said, “It sounded like the explosion of mines very deep below the surface and as if it had travelled through a series of tunnels.” As a result, he wondered if there were tunnels inside the mountain and, when he mentioned this later to a colleague, he found out that children in the area used to explore the mountainous area through a series of tunnels just north of the pyramid – while other local children claim to have explored tunnels in the pyramid itself.
So it seems, those tunnels have been known for ages, and what's more important, people have got in and out of them until very recently. The inscriptions found on that rock could have been made just a couple of years agoWhat is inside the pyramids in Bosnia?
Local Bosnians have known for some time of a network of tunnels inside the Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon, although the entrances to each pyramid have been shut off to the public since the ‘60s.

Ok, thanks for your answer. I thought you might be someone you obviously aren't.stellarchaser wrote:I am not working for foundation, never had been working and haven't even been in Visoko. I just have some opinion about whole thing. I hope it's not a crime.DougWeller wrote:And how do you know how long he was there? I've seen all sorts of nonsense, claims that he was drunk, whatever.stellarchaser wrote: Nor being there for 15 minutes, as that English gentleman, and boldy saying it's a hoax. What a science!
And do you work for the Foundation?
And I don't ask anybody here who do they work for, although that question can be asked too. I though that we would discuss these excavations in civilized manner, waiting to see what will be found out there. I think any scientist with good will and proffesional curiosity should do that.

Yes, why is it always everyone else who has the problem? If the state archaeologists don't want to be associated with the dig, then they obviously know something the rest of us don't. And there's obviously something that Osmanagich and his tame mouthpieces like you aren't bothering to tell us either.bp wrote: This 'official' people are invited to come to work even today, But they have an issue with their pride to work with a Mr Osmanagic
