Not surprising-similar facial features are found throughout the Caribbean-a place I've been travelling to/fishing with locals offshore for over 20 years now.
Did ancient Caribbean Indigenous people have sail technology at all?
It's wind bowl with some real fast rides for those in the know.

It doesn't surprise me either Sam. I think our technology is pretty impressive. The axe head was tested and they were able to tell from what area it came. Not all that new, but it impresses me.

As a sea kayaker, I think some pretty amazing trips can be made in the smallest of boats.

My kayaking buddy leaves Reno tommorow for Okinawa. He plans to kayak solo 500-600 miles from Okinawa to Yoro-Shima over the next six weeks. Some open sea crossings of over 50 miles....

And kayaking and canoing has even increased my understanding of early man. I even once paddled a real dugout canoe on the Amazon.

Kayaking in Northern California has helped me understand early migrations. Just about every time I go out on the ocean here, I encounter Seals. I often think how easy it would be to hunt them. Lots of high quality meat and fat with minimal risks, and the hides make excellent cold weather gear. No wonder early man migrated along the coastlines in northern latitudes.

Northern California is really beautiful. I was stationed out there many years ago. At that time anyway, seals were plentiful.

It seems that man has settled the world by way of the water in many cases. It must be pretty neat to feel that close to the past.

I've never kayaked. That takes some skill and practice.
