A scientific treatment of the earth removed would require a station of workers processing it if any archaeology is actually taking place. Of course, a lack of photos of the processing certainly doesn't mean that it isn't being processed in a scientific manner. However, if there are photos of such processing it would go along way towards addressing some of the very valid criticism in this thread.

So, I ask you again. A pathetic try at what?
Ciko is just sending pictures published on Foundation website. Obviously he's giving us what he can find at this website. It is not his fault that pictures you're asking are not on that site. There are hundreds of pictures there that tell nothing.

As for earth, you are right, and valid criticism, as you say, is always welcome if you know that processing haven't been done. The fact that you don't see processing on the photos, doesn't mean that there's no processing there.

Your question is proffessional question and should be addressed to a proffessional archeologists there, not to an amateur who even might not know what processing is. And then you'll evauate whole thing based on his answer.

Fair enough. We'll have to agree to disagree on whether or not this is a professional question. I'm certainly not a professional but I do find the often bland methodology of archaeology more fascinating than some I suppose. How we know any given thing is often more interesting to me than the thing that we know.

I fault Ciko in no way and will continue to withhold judgement on the project as best as I am able.

If I would know that they are messing up the site, I would be first who would scream; I'm not archeologist too, but I love archeology, and I know that Visochica region is so important.

~sigh~
I know these guys, they are former moderators at the Graham Hancock message board. Their work is full of bogus pseudo material.

Again, I'm sorry, but I have to say that considering how many things Osmanagic has said that we've discovered to not be true I highly doubt his veracity.

Regarding the archaeologist who left after three days, we didn't hear his comments from any magazine but from the archaeologist himself in email.

Another point to be made, most archaeologist publish site reports. In some countries its required (I think it always should be) Osmanagic was asked by Archaeology magazine if he was going to publish a site report, or publish in a scientific journal. He said he was considering Hera magazine.

Mr.Barakat said that he was working on egyptian pyramids, AS GEOLOGIST, for twenty years. Even if he had lied about it, he musn't know anything about egyptian pyramids. He's geologist.

So we see Mr.Hawas flying his statesments around same as some others acused by him for "halucinations". So there's not much difference between him and those he acuses. It's just a "I wash my hands" within dogmatic archeological club.
Actually, Barakat didn't claim to be working on Egyptian pyramids as a geologist for 20 years. Any such claims were made by other people. So far as I can tell there is no evidence that he has worked on Egyptian pyramids in any way -- and you do know who would be involved in giving him permission, I presume? A very small number of geologists have been given access to the Giza plateau in the last 20 years.

Maybe Hawass is upset because he has found out that people like Gerussi have been claiming, falsely, that he sent Barakat there? That seems pretty likely, and I wouldn't blame him if he was.

If you want to argue still that Barakat is an expert on Egyptian pyramids, please give us some evidence.

I'm not saying that Dr. Ali Barakat (Berekat) is expert on Egyptian pyramids but he is experienced geologist and I could say is not a dummy as Dr Hawass said. Somebody could say for Dr Hawass that he is dummy because he is architect who turns to be an archeologist (Egyptologist). But I'm sure that some of Dr Hawass personality is for real discussion. Then why do we have the quotes saying that Hawass sent him?

And where did the information come from that Barakat is a "pyramid expert" and has years of experience with pyramids?

They should absolutely be screening the dirt and taking soil samples at each level. As far as I can tell they aren't doing either. Nor are they marking artifact locations. In fact I'd be real surprised if they are actually looking for artifacts at all. I have a bit of field experience. I know that even though I'm an amteur, I'd do a better job than they are apparently doing. I agree with you, Kat, that it belongs to the world, but the world isn't having much say in what's happening there so I guess it's my way of washing my hands of a matter over which I have no control when I say I don't care. I really do, but we are all helpless as long as the ringmaster is in charge.

.
This thing really can drive me mad witha statements from Texas. Mr Frank Harris knows what is going on there.
FYI I was there first day and I was witness of the guy from the fondation who was taking samples into small bottles for the analysis. He is trained and university educated archaeologist.
What is wrong with you people, why are you making up things, for the lies like this in some countries you can end up in the court becarefull.

Regards

bp
I'm not making up anything. Does the phrase "as far as I can tell", mean anything to you? If they are doing it properly, then why aren't there any pictures of them doing it properly? I can only state what I have seen. I haven't been to the site and if they are doing all the things I said they weren't then good. Show me some pics. Otherwise .....sue me!

It was FENA Bosnian news agency that put the information about Leading pyramid experts from Egypt

Egyptian experts want to visit the pyramid - Posted on 05 Apr 2006 by NEWSBot

Leading pyramid experts from Egypt will visit the archaeological site in Visoko in May and August this year at the invitation by the "Archaeological Park: the Bosnian Pyramid of Sun" Foundation.

Head of the Egyptian Archaeology Department at the Ain Shems University PhD Shafia Bedir and PhD Ali Abdallah Berekat will visit BiH.

They will spend four weeks working with their BiH colleagues at the site of the Bosnian Pyramid of Sun in an effort to confirm scientific results.

"We are very pleased with the results of talks held with our Egyptian colleagues. Egypt is famous for its pyramids. They have acted as true gentlemen in deciding to take part in the international verification of our research", Foundation Steering Board member Senad Hodovic said.

Alright ... why did Osmanagic say Hawass had picked him out and sent him? Why bring Hawass' name into this? Was Osmanagic just "name dropping?"

Hawass drops his own name.

Constantly.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Very good job Katherine. It's good to have "101" lectures in Physical Geology on single place. :D

What I have seen on the pictures it is standard procedure for any archeological dig in this part of the world.Forget all this nonsense using who knows what(technical advancements). In England probably that is standard procedure, but not in poor Balcan countries .In fact Balcan is not part of Europa, even it is not part od Asia. That means it is not on the ground, and it is not in the heaven...it is somwhere between.
So ...if somebody is caring for proper dig it will be advisable to help to Mr Sam trought Piramidal associacion account on his web side,or help in the expert way voluntering on the side.
You don't need hi technology, you just need to know what you are doing and don't rush it. Test trenches, sieving soil, going down slowly and mapping where you find artefacts (eg tiny bits of pottery or charcoal, not just big things), they don't take a lot of technology.
