Let history record that when I found out about Osmanagich's rantings about Atlantis and his contention that the Bosnian "pyramid" was 12,000 years old I became a skeptic.
I respect your opinion. But I would respected it far more if you post your opinion in Archeology magazine under your full name, for example.

But, on second thought, don't do it there. It's so unreliable magazine...

Find some proper media.

And, everybody is entitled to an opinion, and that is not issue here. When I was writing previous post, I was reffering to shameless lying.

It may sound weird, but I started to become suspicious when I saw Osmanagic's Indiana Jones hat. It's too cliché! I thought that no serious archaeologist would try to look like Indy that hard. So I did a bit of research and found info on his crackpot atlantis theories.

That is the number one reason some people are trying to stop the dig or are at least watching closely to make sure it's done right. Osmamagic's reputation. His credibilty is shot to hell with most mainstream archaeologists. Actually anyone who sees his website should be sceptical about the man's sanity. The hat don't help either. He needs one like this>>Image or this>>Image

That is not the reason for lying. And we'll see who'll have Pinochio's nose soon. In the public.

As for Osmanagich, all you can do is to hate him. And if it's what you want to do, please yourself. But that tells only about you.

And you can only to dream about stopping the diggs.

That was a joke, Stellar. I have no interest in stopping the digs. I don't hate Os. I don't know why or even if the guy lied. There is also good evidence that Os has lied on more than one occasion. Unfortunately there is a lot of politics in archaeology and we're seeing some of it in Visoko. My comments aren't meant to offend you or anyone, Stellar. Just trying to bring a little levity to this discussion. "Jocularity!" Image

Ok, Frank Harrist, than I apologise for my thorns. Please have in mind that english in not my mother tongue and that I sometimes simply cannot feel or recognise true meaning of the words.

And unfortunatelly you're right; there's too much politics in here. And politics is always dirty.

I was serious about Os's credibilty. Atlantis and Mayans from outer space? Come on!

Of course, I'm not saying that he's right there, but he's not scientist, so he can have his dreams, as any other free person. And because he's not scientist, he has nothing with the excavations; he's working in the Foundation (for free) to secure that excavations will continue as long it takes.

And he's doing it successfully.

You may think he's a mad man with wild dreams, but he's making his dreams come true.

And as I said, when all finishes, we'll see who lied what and when. I would rather carry your funny hats, rather than be nasty lier and cheater, who is misusing his position.

I'll have to admit to having some pretty far-out theories myself occasionally, but then I ain't running a project of such magnitude and importance. If my theories were made public as his have been then I would never ever get a chance to do so. Not to mention the fact that he has enough money to do whatever he wants, pretty much. Money talks and I'm sure it's voice has been heard in Visoko. Stellar, please just call me Frank. I shortened your name so you can shorten mine. My friends call me Frank. My enemies call me Mr. Harrist.....among other things.

Well, I'll call you Frank then, if it's ok with you. My name is Alex, so you can call me like that too.

I hope you have read my opinion about Visoko, so you know my thoughts.

I believe excavations will resulted whit major archeological findings.

As for Osmanagich, he's been travelling the world in past 15-20 years, following his dreams. At least he's honest. He invested his money in probe diggs in october 2005. He also invested his money and time to do satellite, radar and geology surveys before excavations begun. He has his own private company in USA, so he doesn't need money. And certainly he's not after glory.

But there's one big problem with Osmanagich - that funny amateur is now threat to some people's ego; and if that funny little man finds something there, he'll become even bigger threat. That's, I'm affraid the problem here. And I'm not reffering to you now, but to people like Mr.Rose.

I did not check this forum for feaysw d and look it's nothing changed.
The main issue is osmanagic and his hat or is problem he has money to spend. Would be better if he begs for it.
I'm wandering If someone gonna go into his private liffe to digg something. I'm sure Cathrine is doing that since she is not here for the while.
Guys, Nobody is discussing a site at Visoko. Archaelogy.org is published that Zahi's letter, what a move, they trying every possible approach axcept professional and scientific to discredit his work.
I will be back in two weeks time to check up on you.

I reckon we'll just have to wait and see what's there. I don't have the means or the clout to stop the dig even if I wanted to. Like I said before, it's your country so you do what you want. Ain't no skin off my back. All I've ever wanted to do was help. I don't want to see the Bosnian people lose any of their history, but if it ain't a concern for ya'll then it ain't one for me.

Dear Frank,

we're lost out history long time ago thanks to foreigners who were occupying us for centuries. We had our faith (protestantism) which was destroyed by Rome, Constantinople and finnaly Istambul. They destroyed our faith by swords, by cutting tongues of so called "heretics".

They killed our people, they burned our wooden and stone churches, they burned our books and they forbid our script. For more than 500 years, Rome, Constantinople and Istambul did everytning in their power to destroy our past. Our best kings and statesmen from the past are for us now just a fogy myth, without any material artefacts. because no book and no stone survived. What we are doing at the moment, is rediscovering our past again.
