To all Bosnians:
I think you have a beautiful country with a lot of history.
I think the Visoco Mts. will reveal a lot of it if the digging
is handled properly. I hope so.
I wish I could come see the place.
I am eager to see what is really there.

And maybe, as Irne suggests, someday Os will be viewed by the world as a historical figure who spearheaded an important dig.

But I still do not respect Mr. Osmanegic. I think he belongs in the circus. If he were a political leader, I would call him a dangerous demagogue.

Best wishes and good luck.

Beagle wrote: Irna, he is obviously thanking you for the translation. Also I think he states that he is in favor of what Os is doing. And finally, I think he has some nice compliments for the pictures on your website. I'm not sure, but he may have asked for your help in the future also.
In fact I think that I have already discussed with FaraonVisoko on my website some days ago. At that time, he told me (if he really is the same man) that he was going to Visoko. We had a little discussion about the bad quality of the pictures on the foundation website, and he told me he could take back some pictures from there. I would like to see some really good pictures...

He just told me that we allways want proofs, and that M. Osmanagic already gives a lot : each stone is shown, he talks a lot and so on. I answered that we would prefer to get some real scientific arguments ; for example, if the stones are really hand-worked, it should have left a lot of traces, on the stones themselves, and on the place where they come from...

ici (sur le forum) on demande les preuves sur le plateau avant de croire ou de ne pas croire.
Faron says says that on this forum we demand proofs about the hill before believing or not believing.

Then Irna says,
ça c'est normal, nous sommes tous à la recherche de preuves. L'archéologie est une science, pas une religion, le problème n'est pas de croire ou de ne pas croire.
"That is normal, we are all want to find the proofs. Archaeology is a science, not a religion. It isn't about belief
or disbelief." .....later on she says something about the way Os presents the stones maybe one at at time or out of context, which isn't very convincing(?) And she acknowledges itshard to tell if they are natural or man-made. She thinks those two photos she posted look like man-made foundations of someting to her, and she is anxious to see more pictures, which she will post here.

That's the best I can do.

Well, if you want to know, I do not think he will be remembered as a historical figure :-)

In fact, I mainly hope that he will not be remembered as one who spoiled an important neolithic or medieval site...

And you are right, Bosnia is really a beautiful country ; I used to travel there (and in the other parts of the former Yugoslavia) quite a lot before the war, and then I was sick to see what befell towns and people I loved. I hope I will be able some day to go again.

I must have misunderstood either you French or the Google translation.
I thought you admired his passion.

:-)
I sometimes happen to be sensible to the "bosnian testosterone", as RK Awl-O'Gist puts it, but not in that precise case :-)
