I submit to you that this post by "archaeologist" is sufficient evidence of a direct personal attack to warrant action.
amazing, that wasn't a personal attack at all. your post just confirms what i wrote. if you can defend your position then why are you worried about a couple of religious guys who have no power here but the words they use?

if your ways and thoughts were true, then you should have no problem in presenting what you believe and accept. so my question to you is: why are you trying to manipulate the membership of this board?

then, why would you be afraid to be questioned by those who have a different viewpoint than you?

i have put up with 8 months of all kinds of attacks, slander, innuendo and so on, yet i have been able to defend my position. what does it say when the opposing side won't even participate when there are dissenting opinions?

you want respect from me or other christians then pay your dues. the only person here (this is not including michelle) that i can come close to respecting is minimalist. even though his discussion ability leaves much to be desired, he is at least brave enough to engage someone with a different opinion.

everyone else lasts a post or two (if they decide to participate) then they stop. that raises another question in my mind, why are you so afraid of defending what you believe? do you believe your side is that weak that it can't withstand questioning?
i am never going to agree with what you present as evidence, because it doesn't add up, but that is life. not everyone is going to believe what you say. i know. i have tried for 8 months

i have no problems with you or anyone coming in here and participating but i do have a problem when those people make conditions that affect me and they are not even owners of the board let alone regulars.

i am glad i am leaving soon, though i enjoy discussing topics with those that don't believe, as i learn from those encounters, i need a break from the day to day grind and name-calling. plus my patience is wearing thin and i would like to leave before i say the wrong thing, in their minds, once too often.

i have enjoyed my run here and now it is time to cut back my participation as i prepare to leave. (you spoke to soon).
Even though I did not address you in my original post on this thread, it is interesting that you recognized yourself as one of the "trolls" that I may have been referring to. And even more predictable was your knee-jerk reply.

Why not just leave now, instead of this coquettishness? Not that anyone really believes that you will actually leave, however gradually.

.....and not a week later, we are back into the usual mudslinging contest
focused on jesus, creationism, evolutionism, and indian rope tricks concerning biblical hysteria confused with eternal fact - not even to speak of trolls - all confused and purposefully misused with reference to the geological and archaeological record

the only thing missing is the naked, nubile cheerleaders.

they, at least, would bring physical, if prurient, reality to this forum.

so, as i said in a previous post, call this whole thing

jesus.com and

if anyone out there is interested

we can create a brand new site called

archaeologica.com

which focuses on archaeology: brave new world, eh?

........the bell rings......

.......the dog salivates.......

aside from the conditioned internet response,

i'm sick and tired of

the jesus/middle east donkey being

beaten to death,

to the exclusion of

the subject of archaeology.

uhm, okay. Whatever

It would be more helpfull if you did not resort to the fluffy stuff. But that is just me. Try writing a coherent paragraph, instead of a set of disjoninted one-line garbage. This is not a poetry board, as far as I know.

Andy

already tried that, to no avail. thus my point.

archaeology just doesn't work here.

jesus, and the egyptians, and certain middle eastern sheepherding tribes, and born again christianity, do.

so pick your poison.

good luck.

Good article - should be required reading for all participants.
