Hope everybody had a great Holiday weekend!

Sadly though, given the state of the internet, we should all probably read this.

Great read Beagle, I especially liked the link to 'Flame Wars" at the bottom.

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

I think everyone should follow this link and read about trolls. Then they should click the "flame wars" link and read it too. We get some of that stuff here and if everyone would use the author's strategy I believe it would work. Check it out if you have time.

Somewhat O/T but:
For example, you may not scream out "Fire!" in a crowded theatre,

Actually, you can scream "FIRE" in a crowded theater, and....if the theater really is on fire, it is probably a good idea to do so. Early warning might save a few lives.

If the theater is not on fire, then the person is nothing but a trouble-maker and deserves to suffer penalties based on what happens as a result of his/her actions.

However....suppose someone "thinks" they smell smoke? What is their responsibility? Do they remain silent waiting for more evidence thereby putting the lives of their fellow theater-goers at risk? Or do they voice their concern immediately on the "better safe than sorry" doctrine?

Okay. So much for Philosophy 101. Back to troll bashing.

Find out where they surf, and drown them. That's what we do on the surfing boards.

You guys should read some SurferX, or some VenturaWino!

so what are you saying Arch
that in your opinion creationist christians who don't back up what they say with evidence should be banned because they are stupid

should it happen to GV no doubt it will be a two for one deal
and aren't you guys supposed to be on the same side anyway
or is it that with your God there is never any peace at all
because thats what it looks like
Apparently I am on friendlier terms with G.V. than you are
and I'm not even a christian (thats why I'm always spelling it with a small "c")

That's why there a hundreds of "christian" religions. They don't even get along with each other. Hundred's of different interpretations of the bible.

Just thought this should be brought up again.

So it appears that a troll is similar to an exhibitionist. They both like to let it all hang out in public. If you must respond to one why not try a pm so they aren't getting their jollies on our forum. I personally have stopped reading all posts by those who are in my opinion trolls. It makes reading a thread a little disjointed at first but my blood pressure is down to a safe level.

Starflower, you said you wanted to learn about Giza, and I asked you if you'd like to learn how the ancient Egyptians determined the base-perimeter length for the GP, and the length of the royal cubit, but you never responded, that makes you a troll.
