The only artifact ever found which was attributed to "Solomon's temple" has been found to be fake.
JERUSALEM - An ivory pomegranate believed to be the only relic from Solomon's temple will be withdrawn from public exhibition after experts declared it a fake.
The Israel Museum in Jerusalem declared the most important item in its collection of biblical antiquities a forgery on Friday.

i am sorry but i would have to do some research first before continuing. i feel that much is decided from unbelief and from things not found, than what is found so i would need to expand on my position before continuing.

That would be a refreshing change.

what would be a refreshing change is if you would actuallypost soemthing intelligent that came from your own mind instead of someone else's. you love to hide behind all these people you quote yet i never see you state your own opinion or talk from your own independent thinking.
why don't you put down the personal attacks for a change and show that you have the ability to defend your position without running to 'mommy finkelstein or dever'.

For the umpteenth time, arch, this is a SCIENCE BOARD. Quoting SCIENTISTS to show what SCIENCE has found to demolish your superstitions seems to be the essential purpose.
If you want to wear a funny hat and dance around like the pope be my guest. I'm sure there are plenty of religious superstition boards around where they do that all the time but this is not one of them.

For the umpteenth time, arch, this is a SCIENCE BOARD
i love it when you say that because i would need a calculater to add uop all your posts that do not refer to science or quotes a scientists.
actually this is an archaeology board not a science one so get yor disciplines straight. then we could argue which definition of science do you want to use?
since there are so many and you dismiss all those that hinder your posting , hpocritcal, that it would be impossible tohave a definition of science that could help guide posts.
then we could talk about the censorship you are practicing. just because it disagrees with you, you get all defensive and want it omited or banned. that isn't science.
plus since i rarely quote from scripture and have quoted from actual scientists along with using your own quotes to point out the frailities of theirs and your arguments how can you get away with saying that i am not being scientific?.
it stands to reason that you want to be known as 'the expert' here but i hate to tell you this, you are not wevenqualified tobe onthis board. i onthe other hand, having three degrees in archaeology and ancient history am not only qualified to be here but i can quote myself, or use my own thoughts to present my side of the debate.
your problem is that you refuse to acknowledge alternative thinking because you have made up your mind and have closed it to anything intelligent. you are also upset that someone who has chosen a different side than you can actually prove you wrong and point out your errors with facts to backup those statements, when you and the rest of your buddies can't even answer let alone address simple questions put forth that arise from your theories.

You do not seek science. You seek vindication for your superstitions.
I have long since dismissed you as a rational human being.
A good archaeologist uses radio carbon dating, geology, climatology, astronomy, etc., etc.
You think that all they need to do is read your precious book of fables.
Enough of your drivel, sir!

i don't need vindication and science is only a tool not the ultimate answer. i think i proved that that with all those quotes i posted. those who seek science are not seeking the truth, i seek the truth that is why i disagree with many religious people in my own faith.
again, i think i demonstrated the fallibility of science and its proponents and shown why one should not make science the standard for all mankind.
i have stated it before that i am not against science just the incorrect conclusions which are based upon faulty and limited data. evolution just happens to be a obvious example.

You have proven shit.
Quotes from other bible thumpers mean absolutely nothing. They proceed from the same false premise as you.

Since when has archaeology stopped being a science. I was science when I studied it in the middle of the 20th century, and had been considered such for many years before that.
If you have such little respect for science and its discoveried, why do you call yourself an archaeologist? You have not contributed anything scientific to this forum. So go dig yourself a hole and get lost.

did i say i have little respect for archaeology and its discoveries? no. i said i do not trust the conclusions based upon faulty and limited data that is expounded by those who do not believe. i also said that i do not trust or like the thoughts from those who are ideologically challenged--mainly those religious people who only see what they want to see.

Every word you type demonstrates that all you want is for your little fantasies to be accepted as doctrine.

We all need a laugh
the question ihave for you is, why would you accept finkelt=stein's and dever's word over those who are just as qualified and write that the Bible stories did happen?
it is not that they are 'real' archaeologist versus 'false' archaeologists as my professors also studied in non-religious institutions thus if you say they are wrong then you are tainting your own universities and colleges with the same brush.
just because one is religious does it mean that they are unqualified. i put it down to the fact that you have made up your mind and you are on a mission to fight anything that pertains to religion no matter how much it will cost you.
remember the dating process is arbitrary and usually relies on the individual archaeologist and his/her whims.
