Thank you Roberto for that very informative post. It was a mindsaver

It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Uh....for those of us who don't speak Latin....would you mind translating?
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Didn't Julius Ceaser have some motto like that attributed to him? It was something like don't let the bastards keep you down. It was Noli illegitimi ....something. Maybe the same thing. I don't think illegitimi is even latin. I also read that he didn't really use that as his motto, because there is no record of it having been used by him or anyone else in ancient Rome. But, it's a good one anyway. I have used it before too....back when I could remember what it was.

I always liked...

with side scanso effective, why are we hearing complaints against it?That's interesting Frank. Never heard of side scan being used to find drown victims. But with the right, experience person watching the side scan, it can be easy to pick out such objects as tires, oil drums, and surely a human body

Now boys
Frank you are also right. There are a number of ways to say the same thing in Latin as well as every other language. Gen. Joe Stillwell(fromWWII) had the motto 'illigitimi non carborundum' which is pseudo-latin for don't let the b--d grind you down. My mother was the Latin scholar though and the sign on the fridge read:
Latin is a dead language, it's plain enough to see.
It killed off all the Romans and now it's killing me.
