And by the way, why did you check the origin of the post?

Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Hey, this is getting good

Post by Der Lange »

All RIGHT, Michelle! I can just hear you saying "and his little dog" - as if it came straight from "Wizard of Oz"!

Well, some useful news about the planning for this dig.

I have been cross-ckecking the available literature and am working up a general project plan, following IFA/British Heritage MAP2/US Dep't of Interior project standards. Some key points will include:

- Geological backgraound
- Environmental characterization
- Anticipated ground conditions
- Greater bckground on the civilizations to be investigated
- Technical summary and project supply overview
- Working timeline
- Conservation, storage, marking and labeling, and post-fieldwork methodology
- Artifact respository, destination for curated archives of the project

This appraoch lets everyone know the "envolope" for this dig and helps slot you guys in on key elements. it also shows up whatever weaknesses or strengths the project team has, and points us towrd additional development work.

I hope you guys will all start thinking about specialist disciplines we need o recruit, and - REALLY - see if you can recruit some folk in those areas to correspond with us here on the board.

No, they just do not want to subsidize someone else's bandwidth.
Ahhh...I thought it was about copyright. Thanks for that bit of info.

Where did it say "hosted by tripod?" Your wizard of ox witch doesn't say hosted by anybody....

.......But about this dig,
I am your man for drawings of artifacts and grid locations! Or
digital photography if you prefer.

In place of your image, I get a sign which says "image hosted by Tripod."

I've seen it before.

Green with Envy?

Post by Der Lange »

I BET Michelle's complexion is much nicer than that witch's - and that she doesn't have either the warts or the garden-trowel chin the witch sports, either! No WONDER the witch is green!

And speaking of green, I am not especially happy at the idea that some of you wags may decide to post wisecracks about finding "little green men" when we go out on this project. This is not a pseudo-dig at a purported alien landing site in Roswell, NM, you know.

Everyone knows that Martians were dark skinned and golden eyed. Will we be looking for canals too?

I'm just imagining Goldie in a weightless environment, on the trip to and from, floating by wanting her belly scratched.

Frank, I would certainly not make a trip like this in weightlessness with a dog. Besides the oocasional drool problem, there's the - well - the potty problem. No, we'll go to Barsoom using conventional transportation and no weightless concerns at all.

Geez, you'd think this was science fiction from the 1920's.

Wow! Artificial gravity! We're traveling in style! Yeah, I was wondering about the poop problem. Maybe a poop deck? I still think zero-G would be cool though. Flyin' dog and all....... :D

Frank, we gotta get you and Goldie a ride on one of those training flights where they do the sky roller coaster movement - and get you weightless for a period of time.

I think you will maybe re-think this fascination of yours.

I'd probably like it, but I don't know about Goldie.

How long is it gonna take us to get there? I thought someone said before, but I can't find it. Couple months? Or do we have light speed on this contraption too? We couldn't get the Enterprise? The sensors would come in real handy. Transporters too!
