The visibly protected status I assume were the Nuremburg Laws?

Ah! It was for their own good.

Quite! Protective custody, and wasn't it nice of Hitler to let people take their own possessions with them? I should be so grateful shouldn't I?
Some how though Min I have difficulty with Hitler as the creator of Israel.

We did the same thing to the Japanese... less the death camps, of course.

We inturned Germans and Italians and Germany inturned enemy aliens as well.
An obvious safety precaution followed by all belligerent nations.
The difference was, as you say the death camps, and the fact that many of the victims were German born.

Except the Nisei were generally American citizens.

It was just racism, Dig. We have come to terms with it.

he can't correctly spell the Yiddish name for the Star of David either!

That spelling of it's older than you are.

Just to put you out of you misery that spelling, and yours, are a mixture of Yiddish and English. Like saying Gut Day, German and English.
The Correct Yiddish is Mogan Dovid!
David is not a Jewish name, the root is Dov, meaning Bear!
2 out of 10 for trying!
Ask your local Rabbi!

It's a Jewish company that's made Kosher-acceptable-for-Passover (no yeast) "wine" far longer than I've been around. That they've sold most of it outside their purported target audience made them a nationally-advertised brand, long ago.

If (since) that's the way they choose to spell it, argue with them.

I'm not arguing with anybody, they can spell it how they wish. Here in Europe, the home of Yiddish it's spelt as I stated. The fact that you spell plough as plow etc is upto you, American English differs from our version as well.
The use of David is probably a marketing ploy as most people are probably unaware that David is not a Jewish name, as neither is Jesus, Joseph, Mary or Jacob etc etc etc.
It just amuses me that someone who blames Jews for so much actually knows so little about them.

You argued that it was spelled "incorrectly" and attributed this to my ignorance.

Now that it turns out you missed it by about 500 yards, you weren't saying that after all.

All together now, after me! David is not a Jewish name. Got it Uni?

As a matter of fact the Tel Dan stele says "Bt DWD" which has been translated to House of David.

Of course, there could be other vowels in there, too.

As with the Eyptian hyroglyphs of course Min.
Unlike France, which until recently had a list of approved names, believe it or not, a Jewish family could call a son 'Sitting Bull' if they wanted to but the Yiddish pronounciation and spelling is Dovid.
Thus as I told Uni his phrasing is/was a mixture of two languages.
My own son is named David for what it's worth, but then, he's not a Jew, which of course Uni will dispute that 'cos it's in the blood!'
Actually I bleed the same colour as everyone else.
I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die?
