They discovered a Tsunami Event about 8,000 years ago right in the middle the Mediterranean, in Sicily.

I wonder how this changed ancient history? I think most of what we know of "Civilization" at that time was in Mesopotamia. Was that because only inland civilizations survived?

I wonder if a more advance civilization on the Mediterranean was wiped out? If there was one, it would have been wiped out without ever leaving a clue since the debris was hundreds of feet deep...

earliest dates for civilisation in Mesopotamia date to around 5500bce at Eridu. (thats 7500 years ago)

I agree though this has nothing to do with Noahs flood which in its earlier versions is set inland among a mountain range
but it could have implications for Deucalion which is right in this ones projected path

Well, I stand corrected. About 8,000 years ago Anatolia was the birthplace of agriculture and urban society.

Still the more fascinating question is there might have been an even more advanced civilization on the coast that is now gone without a trace

Interesting that this event occurred during the 6200-6000bce Mini Age event. No correlation, but it was a wild ride nontheless.

Deucalion? Put together a flood with cooling and warming and you have something.

It's annoying that untill I found this site I had no one to vent my brain storms on so I got rid of a lot of books so I'm often not sure of my deatils, but doesn't Majeno Daro (correct spelling?) date back earlier than 8000 years ago. Also if you read this Mike I used to have a map that showed the coast line in that area enormously different to todays and it seemed to place the greater part of that civilisation now under water.

no where near that old I'm afraid. it dates to 4600 years ago (2300bce) and thats all despite several Indian Nationalists and Pseudoscientists claims to the contrary
