Too Bad Arch Isn't Here....

Post by Minimalist »

:D he could tell us again how science can't make decisions from the recovery of a couple of bones!

http://apnews.excite.com/article/200612 ... 17N81.html

WASHINGTON (AP) - The bones of a baby plesiosaur have been recovered from an Antarctic island, scientists reported Monday. In life, 70 million years ago, the five-foot-long animal would have resembled Nessie, the long-necked creature reported to inhabit Scotland's Loch Ness.

The new fossil skeleton is one of the most complete of its type ever found, researchers said. It will go on display Wednesday at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology's Museum of Geology.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Interesting. From what I've read about plesiosaurs they seem to favor very cold water. But then, the water wasn't that cold at that time.

hmm are they basing this identification on the faked surgeons photograph or the original account which didn't include a description

I had thought that also and was looking for info when I found this site.

From where most of their fossils have been found, it appears that they preferred cooler waters found at higher latitudes to those of warmer equatorial climates. In North America, they are found more often in the Cretaceous deposits of Canada than in the central United States, and are extremely rare in the Gulf area.
I enjoyed reading the first page and several of the links. I find these kinds of stories fascinating.

More evidence...this time for gliding squirrels.

Evolutionary Science just keeps trashing creationism more and more each day!

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/14/scien ... ner=EXCITE

Scientists have discovered an extinct animal the size of a small squirrel that lived in China at least 125 million years ago and soared among the trees. It is the earliest known example of gliding flight by mammals, and the scientists say it shows that mammals experimented with aerial life about the same time birds first took to the skies, perhaps earlier.

Min, you should really be careful about what you are saying in this forum. Should the bad Arch return, he might have his almighty strike you down for blasphemy.

Or was that Zeus instead of Yahweh? I'm so confused.

hmmm
Zeus was based on Enki
Poseidon, YWHW and Jehovah (Arch's made up god) were based on Enlil

So .... you're saying divine retribution should take the form of an earthquake instead? I'm simply trying to figure out which god is going to be cashing in Min's chips and how it will be done. Could make for a great Rock N Roll video, don't you think? :D

Ever notice that god is like a mafia don? Always seems to hire a hitman and never does the dirty work himself.

Book of Numbers 22:-
23And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand
31Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand

1 Chronicles 21:-
16 David looked up and saw the angel of the LORD standing between heaven and earth, with a drawn sword in his hand extended over Jerusalem.
30 But David could not go before it to inquire of God, because he was afraid of the sword of the angel of the LORD

2 Chronicles 32
21 And the LORD sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the leaders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons cut him down with the sword

Book of Revelation 2
12To the angel of the church in Pergamum write. These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword.

so it seems that angels aren't so fluffy and are adept at handling more than just harps eh

my favourite biblical quote about angels with weapons is this one from the writings of st Paul
"even now in heaven there are angels carrying savage weapons"
someone once presented this to me at another forum as evidence that Angels were savage creatures who killed for God
can anyone tell me why this last quote isn't valid for that purpose ?

The idea of an allembracing loving God is certainly not founded in the scriptures.
Quote, 'the Lord thy God is a jealous god---'. And take a look at the prescribed punishment for gays, guaranteed to bring tears to you eyes!
Jesus also proclaimed, 'I come to bring you the sword'.
All quotes as per the King James Authorised version, others may differ.

"Moses tied his ass to a tree and walked 1,000 miles."

Scripture says a lot of goofy stuff.

Moses was of course the first recorded motor cyclist. Quote, "the sound of his Triumph was heard throughout the land."
