Parliament.

Here's where you get off topic and off center....Keep it nice, keep it clean, no sniping, no flaming. After that, anything goes.

Parliament.

Post by Digit »

Today was the official opening of parliament.
One MP has made a name for himself by saying how pleased he was to see so many new faces in the House as he, believed that MPs, like nappies (diapers) should be changed regularly....
and for the same reason!

Just don't fall for any of this "term limits" crap.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

The late, unlamented, Mayor of London once stated that 'if voting ever changed anything they'd outlaw it!'

In 1994 Newt Gingrich led the so-called Republican revolution ( if turning back the clock 100 years can ever be a revolution) and proposed term limits.

Oddly, (or perhaps not-so-oddly) when the Republicans who won ran up against "term limits" they decided they were not such a hot idea after all.

The mayor may have had a point!

:D

Billy Connolly, a comedian in the vein of George Carlin, once stated that any man who expressed a desire to be an MP should be immediately disqualified from ever becoming one!
