More Gene Stuff

Post by uniface »

SALT LAKE CITY - (Business Wire) An international team of genetic scientists has discovered the ancestors of Native Americans had at least 15 unique maternal genetic lines, many more “founding mothers” than had been expected for the Paleo-Indians . . .

From 5 mtDNA lineages to 15 in just a few years, with more to come. Anyone want to tell me why there are far more maternal than paternal markers found in the Americas?

The first step when attacking a village is: you kill all the men and some of the women. Pick and choose who you want for slaves and, if there are too many, kill the excess. Plays hell with genetics.

Please remember who these people are and where they are from.
(Salt Lake City, Utah.)

The Mormons have a doctrinal need for the current “Native Americans” not to be the first inhabitants of NA.

A mix of DNA would support their claim of previous high cultures that were over run and absorbed.

From the posting :

“In March 2008, the international research group was the first to compile all known Native American mixed DNA genomes into a single genetic tree with branches dated. Their Jan. 2009 study strongly suggesting that the first Paleo-Indian groups immigrating into the Western Hemisphere came not from a single population source but from distinct genetic groups, made the cover of Current Biology. “

I am not saying they are right or wrong.
I am just suggesting we remember where the study support money is coming from.
And what the target audience for this kind of press release is aimed at.

According to the BBC news this evening there are two cloned Bull Cows in the UK.
Ain't genetic engineering wonderful!?
