The UK is one of the heaviest users of CCTV in the world but for many shops, there is nobody to monitor the cameras so internet users are being invited to help in return for cash prizes.
A network of CCTV cameras monitors the centre of London and, deep underground, trained professionals monitor the 120 feeds, coordinating the search for everyone from terrorists to petty thieves.
But for smaller shops, monitoring CCTV can be too expensive and too labour intensive to be practical.
A controversial website called Internet Eyes. invites British internet users to fill in the gaps. For £13 a year, subscribers can become part-time crime fighters. [...]

Shocking image, R/S and I see your point although I'm not sure the analogy holds too far. I'm not sure what I think about Wilders. But part of that is that I'm not certain that muslim immigrants to Europe ( and here) are part of the same dynamic as earlier groups.

Resistance to Mexican/Latin American immigrants in the US boils down to the fact that they speak Spanish and are generally poor. The immigrants themselves, like virtually all immigrant groups which have come here, have the same desire to assimilate into American 'culture' (whatever that may be.) Obvious exceptions to that general rule are the Amish who went off to live by themselves and sell trinkets to tourists. Most immigrant groups tend to live in enclaves for the first generation but their children and grandchildren are fully assimilated into American society.

I'm certainly no expert on Wilders but from what little I've heard the situation in Europe with muslim immigrants is much different. There they are demanding not to assimilate but that the various European countries acquiesce to their particular superstitions. This is something very different and I can certainly see a backlash coming. Who tolerates a rude house guest? France (to my amazement) has actually begun cracking down on some of this nonsense. Will this cause some of the other European countries to grow a pair of balls and start pushing back? It might.

The Jews were Europeans and had been so for centuries when Hitler decided they were a convenient scapegoat, which is where I think your analogy breaks down. Still, muslim 'leaders' should put down their korans long enough to read a little mid 20th century European history. It can happen again.

German Jews had long-since developed a rapproachment with the people around them. So long as this was the case, nobody cared whether you went home and said Our Father, Hail Mary or Shema Yisroel.

What changed this was two things : Jewry's worldwide support of the Allies against Germany when the Balfour Agreement was announced, and the flood of heathen (no other term suffices) refugees into Germany in the aftermath of the overthrow of the Russian government. Scorning the culture of their host country, they set about turning it into a moral cesspool (as they did here in the US until the Catholic Legion of Decency brought Hollywood to its knees with a boycott of films). That people became aware that the financial speculators who both caused the catastrophic Weimar currency collapse in 1923 and profited from it (buying up cultural treasures for pittances and exporting them) was icing on the cake.

No. Not "they". Just a small, militant, very vocal part of "them". The in-your-face types. Assholes in any society. A small orthodox/reactionary minority.
The vast – silent! – majority of muslims came to Europe for 2 reasons: 1) a better economic future, and 2) to escape the stifling, oppressive, and corrupt cultures and politics of their birth countries. I.o.w. their goal was/is progress, change. They're looking to achieve the complete opposite of the status quo they were locked into back home! That's why they left in the first place!
One shining example: over 80% of EU muslims (of middle eastern, Asian, or north African origin) never go to mosque anymore*! In their home countries that's no more than 5%!
That silent majority is culturally blackmailed and terr'ised – 'held hostage', if you will – by that orthodox minority.
Very much like the orthodox/reactionary witch hunters of Salem or the McCarthy era completely terr'ized the general population. It was a very small minority that actively screwed up society. It's the same with muslims in Europe.

*for Turks that figure is over 60%. Turkey has had strict 'separation of church and state' since Kemal Atatürk in 1924. Islam is less oppressive in their society, therefore better palatable, thus more acceptable/accepted. Whence Turkish muslims feel less urged to leave that mosque than muslims from orthodox muslim countries do.

You of course will not accept 'slanted' figures, but in the UK as of 2004, the attendance was 930000 out of a population claiming to be Muslims of about two million.
I know nothing of Mexican crime figures, but of the last 57 cases that were prosecuted in the UK of sexual grooming of young white girls off the streets, 53 were conducted by men of Muslim backgrounds, mostly Pakistanis apparently. According to a Muslim leader who warned our previous government of a developing problem, the cause is that Muslim women are 'off limits.'

Seeing as the Weimar government stabilised the currency with the Rentenmark ten years before Weimar ended that would sound like another simplistic cartoon I think.
Also their inflation was lower than other countries have suffered and survived without a war.
