I always knew this. Glad to see it proven. I am 5'9" with a 27" inseam. Never could keep up with long legged distance runner, but I can go uphill really fast!

And down hill I would suggest. Think of a decline, the longer the lower leg the greater the knee angle on the trailing leg, and the greater the strain.
A late friend of mine was left behind, due to wounds, when the British army withdrew from Burma during WW2. He was found and nursed by Karen hill tribes people but had to keep on the move. According to him you should never follow a Karen up a hill, thay are short limbed....
