"Inadvertent", My Ass....

Bush and his bible thumping phonies tried to pull a fast one!

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/24/washi ... ner=EXCITE

Evolutionary biology has vanished from the list of acceptable fields of study for recipients of a federal education grant for low-income college students.

The omission is inadvertent, said Katherine McLane, a spokeswoman for the Department of Education, which administers the grants. “There is no explanation for it being left off the list,” Ms. McLane said. “It has always been an eligible major.”

Another spokeswoman, Samara Yudof, said evolutionary biology would be restored to the list, but as of last night it was still missing.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

sounds like they are still doing it
Dr. Krauss said: “Removing that one major is not going to make the nation stupid, but if this really was removed, specifically removed, then I see it as part of a pattern to put ideology over knowledge
still i can't complain but to be fair it should be re-instated.

well minimalist for once you posted behind the topic. we christians are already aware of the persecution that comes and will come our way and what you post is mild. just ask the believers in pre-constantine Rome.

just look at the abuse you and others throw my way yet i do not agree with eric rudolph nor the crusades, which was orchastrated by the catholics not the christians. nor do i agree with the salem witch trials yet you want to hold those of us accountable for all those things we had nothing to do with.

and it isn't guilt by association.

Those were catholics. I thought they didn't count?

You insist on posting your superstitions as if they have some merit in a scientific debate, arch. Get with it. BTW, in Germany in 1945 it was hard to find a German who voted for Hitler....I suspect the speed with which you run from the distateful aspects of christianity is motivated by a similar desire to distance oneself from the crimes in question Religion has even less to do with 'morality' than it does with 'god.'

and it isn't guilt by association.

If you want to be on god's team, what choice do you have?

catholicism did not come into being till post constantine or during his reign.
in Germany in 1945 it was hard to find a German who voted for Hitler..
what happened in germany is nothing to be proud of as human frailties and poor church leadership led many down the wrong path. maybe you should read dietrich bonhoffer (though i disagreed with his involvement in a plot to kill Hitler) he was one of the few who stood up against the nazis.
If you want to be on god's team, what choice do you have?
but were the crusader's on God's team? were the salem judges on God's team? etc. those are the questions you should investigate.

Mithraism? Virtually the same as Christianity - even celebrates the Lord's birthday on 25th December :D

i have changed my position a little---i would like to seee them pull all federal funding for evolutinary research until they teach all theories in the science classroom.

given the fresh batch of insults hurled my way recently i decided to harden my stance. it is always ood to see that evolutionary supporters can't play nice.

Since god is a figment of the imagination, it is...and always has been...pretty much a self-declared position.

Creationism is not a scientific theory.

It's wishful thinking by the church power structure trying to make sure they don't lose any money on the deal.
