so if i say i tend to agree with Humphreys, Musil, and Beke and declare Mt. Sinai has been found would you believe it?
What would it matter as the Israelites themselves did not exist until the end of the 13th century BC?
Just because some priest in the 7th century meant one mountain or another is beside the point. The whole story is bullshit. Not just the particular mountain.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

my point is proven. even if they found the arkof the covenant, there would stillbe cries of fake, forgery and so on. so it isn't a matter of proof then is it?What would it matter as the Israelites themselves did not exist until the end of the 13th century BC?

If some bible-thumper comes up with an Ark it will be another forgery.
Won't stop people like you from dancing for joy....even if it has "Made in China" stamped on the bottom.
I'll tell you what, arch. First find it and then we'll talk.
I won't hold my breath.

pre-drawn conclusion, so no christian really has a chance because they are immediately suspected as guilty first. If some bible-thumper comes up with an Ark it will be another forgery
if i find it you would be trampled in the crowd trying to talk to me.I'll tell you what, arch. First find it and then we'll talk

pop quiz for all finkelstein and dever fans:
1. when and where did william dever say the following---
"moreover, the characteristics and locations of those villages, along with artifactual evidence, says william dever, provide an archaeological assemblage that agrees remarkably well with the conditions and cultural setting described in the conquest and settlement narratives."
another quote which lends support to the biblical account:
from 'Is the Bible True' by Sheler pg. 93 --
"The respected Israeli archaeologist Yigael Yadin, who held a generally high view of the Bible as History. wisely cautioned against dogmatism on either side of the debate. 'itis not necessary either to accept each detail of the biblical account, on the one hand, or to reject the basic historicity of the conquest , on the other,he wrote. Archaeology in his view, broadly confirms that at the end of the Late Bronze Age, semi-nomadic Israelites destroyed a number of major Canaanite cities, then graqdually and slowly, they built their own sedentary settlements on the ruins, and occupied the remainder of the country."
then further on pg. 93-4 this statement:
"While the debate over israel's emergence in Canaan continues, there is nothing in the archaeological record to dispute the central proclamation of the Bible concerning this time period."

Yigael Yadin is one of the most dogmatic scholars out there...an Israeli nationalist who was bound and determined to follow in Albright's footsteps and find bible "proof" every time he stuck a shovel in the ground.
As far as your last idiotic "quote" is concerned, let us see what Dever had to say in his LAST BOOK....(real scholars, unlike bible-thumping morons can change their minds based on facts!):
The foregoing survey of the archaeological data leaves one, I think, with little choice. We must confront the fact that the external material evidence supports almost nothing of the biblical account of a large-scale, concerted Israelite military invasion of Canaan, either that of Numbers east of the Jordan, or, of Joshua west of the Jordan.

that is just a blatant lie as we have more than enough evidence to support the bible.

Only a bible-thumper with his head firmly placed up his own ass would maintain the foolishness exemplified in the goddamn bible in spite of all the evidence which has been uncovered.
It's holy horseshit. Deal with it.

Only slightly off-topic.
I really don't feel sorry for these fools. If they can believe in bible-bullshit they deserve to be robbed blind by preaching con men.

Billions of dollars has been stolen in religion-related fraud in recent years, according to the North American Securities Administrators Association, a group of state officials who work to protect investors.
Between 1984 and 1989, about $450 million was stolen in religion-related scams, the association says. In its latest count - from 1998 to 2001 - the toll had risen to $2 billion. Rip-offs have only become more common since.

and that makes them any worse than secular cons? people who run cons are not following Christ thus they cannot be equated with Christianity. just because many people who are believers lack discernment or knowledge does it mean that christianity is false or full of *******. it just means that people in general are gullible.
