The Old World is a reference to those parts of Earth known to Europeans before the voyages of Christopher Columbus; it includes Europe, Asia and Africa.

I really believe that. On the other side of the next ice age glaciation, we will be mostly myth. It's fun to imagine what those myths will be and wonder how similar they might be to our own mythology.

I saw a news report a few years ago that talked about our nuclear dumps. Nuclear waste is buried in a few locations around the globe.
These areas are toxic for many thousands of years, and scientists were trying to figure out a way to get that message to future civilizations. They decided to inscribe symbols into granite monuments that would be understood by all mankind.
