Stonehenge

The Old World is a reference to those parts of Earth known to Europeans before the voyages of Christopher Columbus; it includes Europe, Asia and Africa.

I saw that one. Figured it out by isotope analysis of his teeth as I recall.
I believe you both are referring to this article from New Scientist in February of 2003.

'King of Stonehenge' hailed from the Alps

I saw it on a TV special.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed.

Wow, what a great quote!

"We are simply an extension of an ancient age, living now in the next lost civilization."

I really believe that. On the other side of the next ice age glaciation, we will be mostly myth. It's fun to imagine what those myths will be and wonder how similar they might be to our own mythology.

Perhaps the playboy mansion will be a temple and the TV set will be our idols?

They practically are now.

I saw a news report a few years ago that talked about our nuclear dumps. Nuclear waste is buried in a few locations around the globe.

These areas are toxic for many thousands of years, and scientists were trying to figure out a way to get that message to future civilizations. They decided to inscribe symbols into granite monuments that would be understood by all mankind.

I have never heard what they decided on.

If it survives, you can bet some idiot will be trying to figure out which stars they are pointed toward.

I don't know...if they were able to understand English script, they might just think it was a tribute to Dante.

I would think that a skull and crossbones symbol is pretty universal but it probably wouldn't keep out the more curious. :?
